Stroll the Paseo Arts District

On your next visit to Oklahoma’s capital city, bring your furry art connoisseur to the Paseo Arts District. This two-block street of Spanish-style buildings is home to more than 20 galleries, and your four-legged friend is welcome to visit many of them. Peruse the collections at The Art Hall, Little D Gallery, and Prairie Arts Collective. Shop for gifts at Literati Press Bookshop, then grab lunch at Picasso Café and order your hungry hound his own delectable dish from the doggy menu. After your art adventure, take your water-loving pooch to Riversport OKC in the Boathouse District. Snap on your pup’s life jacket and paddle along the Oklahoma River in a flatwater kayak or stand-up paddleboard, admiring the art and architecture of downtown OKC. Dog life jackets are required.

You’ll have no trouble finding the 21c Museum Hotel Oklahoma City. Just look for Woozy Blossom, the 16-foot steel tree outside the property. It’s one of the many art installations found throughout the hotel and museum. During your stay, take Fido shopping for pet products and more at the 21c store. Food and water bowls and a cozy dog bed are available for your pup to use in your spacious guest room.

Check Out the Myriad Botanical Gardens

Walk with your pup through a 15-acre natural escape in the heart of Oklahoma City at Myriad Botanical Gardens. Take a self-guided walking tour through ornamental landscapes in this interactive urban park, stopping to learn about plant species and admire the sculptures that are on display. Dogs are allowed everywhere except the Children's Garden and inside the Crystal Bridge Conservatory. Fido’s favorite spot will be the Myriad Botanical Gardens Dog Park, where he can run off-leash in a fenced area featuring turf-covered mounds, seating for humans, and doggy water stations. Before going back to your hotel, stop by Bone Dog Boutique for a self-service dog wash and delicious treat for your pooch.

Your furry traveling buddy will be impressed if you book a room at the Aloft Oklahoma City Downtown Bricktown. He’ll love hanging out with you as you sip a cocktail in the hotel’s W XYZ bar or play a game of pool in the Re:mix Lounge. He’ll be even happier when he finds out about the fully fenced dog park located just behind the hotel.

Explore Dog-Friendly Tulsa

From OKC, hop on Route 66 and travel the 119 scenic miles to Tulsa. Here you will want to check out Tulsa's new riverfront park, the Gathering Place. A lot of time and money went into the design of this park, and it shows. The Gathering Place made national news when it opened in the summer of 2018, and now Tulsans and tourists can come enjoy the world-class paths, trails, and garden areas along the Arkansas River. As the sun sets, bring Fido to watch a flick at the Admiral Twin Drive-In, Oklahoma's largest twin screen drive-in theater, featuring space for over 1,500 cars and the nostalgic feel of an old-fashioned outdoor theater.

Put your paws up at the conveniently located La Quinta Inn & Suites Tulsa Central. La Quinta has long been a favorite among pet parents, and the newly remodeled downtown Tulsa location is situated right in the heart of this vibrant city.
