Paws on Pavement 5k

Brief Description: Are you ready to grab your pooch and go for a run? No pooch? No Problem! We're bringing everyone in Canton together for a great 5K to raise money for the Ahimsa House. Event Beneficiary: Ahimsa House - Ahimsa meaning nonviolence in Sanskrit - is the only organization in Georgia dedicated to helping pets and people escape together from domestic violence situations. Together with Ahimsa House, we can help provide funds to support take in pets and their owners. Schedule: Check in & race day registration starts at 7:00 am. 5K starts at 8:00 am. Registration & Day of Registration: Registration is $25 for the 5K and for phantom runners. All participants registered by 9/7 are guaranteed a great race shirt in their size. Race day registrations are welcome starting at 7:00 am for $5 more. Shirts & Goodies: All participants registered by Sep. 7 are guaranteed a great race shirt & goody bag. Registrations after that will receive a shirt while supplies last. Door Prizes: We're going through Canton and rounding up door prizes to give away on race morning. Awards: We'll have great custom awards for the overall men's & women's finishers, overall master's men & women, as well as the top 3 in each of the normal 5 year age groups starting at 10 & under and going through 75+. Course: It's North Georgia so there will be some nice, gentle, rolling hills to keep it interesting. Five Star Championship Qualifier: The 5K will be a qualifier for the Five Star Championship race held in December. The number of qualifying slots depends on the number of participants. See race website for details. Five Star Turkey Trot Qualifier: All participants registered for the 5K will qualify for FREE entry into the Five Star Turkey Trot held on Thanksgiving Day.
