Annual Reunion

Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue (DVGRR) will hold its annual reunion, “DVGRR: Under the Big Top, the Greatest DOG Show on Earth,” on Sat. Oct. 17, 2015 starting at 11:00 a.m. at its Golden Gateway facility, 60 Vera Cruz Rd., Reinholds, PA. The event is designed for all ages. Attendees are welcome to bring their dogs, and while the majority of canine attendees are DVGRR alumni dogs, all dog-friendly dogs are welcome. All dogs must be on lead (no flexi leads permitted) and current on vaccinations. The reunion will feature circus-themed canine games and a presentation by Andrew Markovits, author of From Property to Family: American Dog Rescue and the Discourse of Compassion. DVGRR was included in the research for this book. The book will be available for sale and can be autographed. Caricaturist Neil McMillan will also be on hand to draw caricatures of attendees and/or their dogs, and caricatures can be created from photos on electronic devices as well. Caricatures are by donation with proceeds benefitting DVGRR. “We always have a great turn out for our reunion,” said Inza Adams, DVGRR Events Manager, “and it’s great to see our alumni dogs come back happy and healthy, especially those that were rescued from puppy mills. But we also look forward to new faces, so we can spread the word about the work we do and educate more people about the importance of rescue.” A donation is requested, and food is available for purchase, including apple dumplings that must be pre-ordered.
