    Tamworth Camping Area offers large, level, wooded and open sites, waterfront sites on Swift River, full hookups available (W, E & S) - 20, 30 & 50 amp electric, seasonal sites w/ cable TV, security gate entrance, fireplace and picnic table at each site, rental trailers, modern restrooms with hot showers, open area sites available for groups or big rigs, firewood, ice, LP gas, dumping station, laundromat, country store, and internet access at office area.

      Horrible experience

      Traveling with my over 70 years old mom and 13-year-old dog. We rented one of their trailers. We were excited to find a campground with a furnace trailer that allowed dogs. The second bedroom had a folding couch that was unsteady and unsecure. The lights constantly flickered. We had to figure out where the main switches were behind a panel just to be able to turn on the lights upon our arrival during the rain. After using the bathroom a few times we noticed an odor.

      It wasn't till we went to bed during a rainy night and shut the door to the second bedroom where I was to sleep, that there was a terrible sewage odor that permeated the entire room when the door was shut. In the morning after using the bathroom a few times, both my mom and I went to brush our teeth and both of us left the bathroom gagging from the smell coming out of the bathroom sink. They advertised massaging chairs and only one worked and there was other people's food in and around the chairs. We shared our concerns with management upon leaving and they said via email later that day that they didn't notice anything wrong with the trailer which was not the case. Would not recommend renting a trailer from this campground.

      Always an amazing experience

      I have been going to this campground since I was a child and I have had nothing but positive experiences! Check in is easy, staff is friendly, camp store well stocked and priced fairly. The little river that runs through is chilly all year but my pup has an amazing time romping through it. Highly recommend. Going is my favorite part or the year!
