I wish I had stayed at a rest stop instead as the only other hotel in New Boston didn't allow big dogs. Very dirty, toilet wouldn't flush, I killed a roach, the sheets were old and had black little balls and hair, and the walls were very thin and everything could be heard. First, I was worried for my safety so I slept with all my clothes and with my contacts in. Then I swear I could feel things crawling on me, so I was afraid there were bed bugs. I was not sure which fear was greater for me.

The best feature of this motel is that we were able to park right outside of our room with direct door access. Despite being located next door to a busy gas station, our room was surprisingly quiet. It was clean & spacious. The challenge of traveling with a dog in Texas is that there are few grassy areas for dogs to relieve themselves. Dog-friendly may describe a hotel policy, but it cannot be assumed that there will be any location on the hotel property for your pet to go potty.

Room was basic, clean and check-in easy. Not a fancy motel but had all we needed for one night after hiking 3 state parks that day!
