  Refurbished Hotel

  The company must have invested a sizeable number of dollars to bring this property up to its current status. It is still an old building, but it has everything you need to enjoy your stay. They welcomed our dog when we arrived. The pet fee is reasonable $25. The updated bathroom was quite nice.

  Great location

  Lots of green space (and a mall) behind hotel. LVT flooring which is a huge plus for me. Breakfast was ok but was happy with the room. Dothan was actually bigger than I thought. There’s a Waldo’s chicken in beer about 2 miles away and you can eat on the patio with your dog.

  Adequate

  Nice lobby and breakfast buffet area, but rooms were not as conducive to dog guests as some. I prefer a room that opens to the outside so I can place my dog’s crate away from both the window and door. The drapes did not fully cover the window, so a thin stream of light entered the room, which was disturbing. Not a restful environment for a travel weary pup.

  Nice stay

  Clean, comfortable and staff was helpful and friendly. Dog area accessible and mostly no carpet in pet hotel rooms. Pretty quiet. Nice breakfast.

  Dog treats in the lobby!

  Our second time staying here. Very friendly staff, elevators at each end of the building. Several grassy areas to walk pets. Coffee available 24/7. The building is older, but clean. Needs some TLC in a few places.

  Perfect for our needs

  Location is great, there are treats for our precious pup, plenty of green space for necessary needs, comfy bed and good breakfast for pet parents. First time to stop here on our annual trip to FL but it won't be the last.

  Good stay

  The room was nice. Construction all around on the roads, and thin walls. But this was a nice hotel in a nice area. Construction will end one day. Would stay here again.

  Not only was the staff on duty (Richard) awesome but the hotel and location was perfect for us while traveling with our dog. I highly recommend this hotel.

  Great hotel

  We have now stayed at this hotel twice. The room was very clean, modern, bed was comfortable, and pets are placed on 1st floor which is very helpful. Plenty of space in well lighted locations for potty breaks. The first night we stayed here a party was taking place in the room beside of us at 2AM. The front desk staff took our complaint serious and quickly contacted the people in the room to please be quieter. The front lobby has treats for the dogs. The continental breakfast was good. Reasonable price.

  Easy to find, food options nearby

  Hotel was clean and had a good breakfast. When we checked in there was a loud family across the hall and we requested another room and it was quickly accomplished with no hassle. Lots of area to walk the dog off the parking lot.

  Noisy dogs

  The hotel is nice, the room is clean and modern, and breakfast was good. However, there were one or two other dogs (who sounded very large) who would not stop barking, so we were up very early due to this issue as we couldn’t sleep through it. Normally I’d be tolerant of some barking, but this was excessive and extremely intrusive. I managed to keep my dog quiet, so I don’t know why it was such a problem for others.

  Very comfy for Fido

  We all slept like logs. The rooms (we had 2) were nice and the beds were great. Our dog was a happy pooch too. They even had a doggy biscuit for him.

  Exceptional hotel

  Immaculate, friendly staff, comfortable beds and pillows. I read conflicting reviews but we couldn't find fault with anything. Also the parking lot was lighted well.

  Dothan stay

  Hotel was very handy to our route through Dothan, AL. Dog area outside was nice and appeared clean. Even had a picnic table to sit at while dogs roamed on their leash. Hallway noise easily heard in room. Room could have been cleaner but overall would stay again. Competitive price.

  Great pet friendly hotel. Beautiful decor and rooms, grassy areas with waste pickup stations, dog bones in the lobby, great HOT breakfast and the staff were all awesome. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area again!

  Great location

  Good location and easy check in. They did charge a $15 pet fee which the desk said was something they recently started. Room was clean. Grass area on side of hotel easy to walk the dogs. Standard serve yourself breakfast was included.

  Loved the location

  Only issue I had was with front desk upon check-in, the lady tried to get me to settle for a room that was not the one I had reserved. I explained that i had a reservation for a king assist room. And the other front desk worker stepped up and fixed the issue. Everything after that went well, nice grassy area for doggy potty, treats at front desk.

  Not much grass

  Not the cleanest place I’ve ever been at. Walls are thin, ceiling leaked from shower above. Not very much grass and not the best place to walk.

  Easiest check-in ever

  Travel through Dothan 6 times every year on trips to see family in Indiana. Found the perfect hotel for us. Handy to food, gas and shopping of you forgot something (like treats:-) Room was large, immaculate with small fridge and microwave. My only complaint is that there is no alarm clock on either bed table. When I wake in the night I want to see the time. Microwave had lighted time display but it was too small to read from the bed.

  Above and beyond!

  I absolutely love this place! We were welcomed with our two retrievers with treats! No extra fees or size limits. Everything was immaculate, clean well maintained. The pool was nice and open/close at ‘real’ hours 😊 the breakfast (Free) was over the top and NOON checkout! This will be our new mid point stop every time we visit central Florida. Highly recommend.

  Great place! Second stay!

  No extra fee, both of our retrievers were welcomed with treats! it was super clean, safe & well landscaped. check out was at noon and the breakfast (FREE) was like a buffet style and delicious! This is our new go to place as we always stop in Dothan as our halfway point when going to visit our daughter in Florida.

  Great Fido Friendly Stay

  Staff were very friendly with us & our Westie and welcomed her with Fido treats! The room was comfortable & full breakfast was great! And NO MASKS REQUIRED!

  Value for dollar

  Okay. It isn’t Emirates Palace but when you consider value per dollar, this was an excellent find. The location is great, near lots of shopping and restaurants. Thus, there was a lot of traffic noise but by using the “fan always on” setting on the ac the noise was drowned out. I stayed 2 nights and found the room clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast the first day was continental, which I expected, but the second morning I was surprised to find scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, and sausage gravy. Staff were friendly and courteous. If I need to travel to Dothan with my Maltipoo again, I won’t hesitate to stay here.

  really a great location for Dothan

  I will say they were renovating the lobby and common areas downstairs, so they had a make shift lobby/counter set up between the double entrance doors, but they seemed to have it all figured out and i was able to check in and out with no issues. Nice clean room and polite staff, and my 50 lbs poodle was just as comfortable as the rest of us :)

  Beware!!

  There is a reason for the no pet fee at this hotel. The carpet was torn and very nasty and the room was old and had a musty smell, I did not allow my pet to even lie on this carpet for fear of him catching something off the nasty carpet. I was scheduled for a 2 night stay but checked out in the early am after getting a little rest. Do yourself a favor and pay a pet fee somewhere else.

  Friendly staff

  Staff was super friendly. We were traveling with two dogs and two toddlers so they made sure we had a trolley for our luggage. It was actually pretty quiet too!

  Needs an update

  The staff was great but the rooms were old and grungy. Gross carpet with lots of tears & stains. The bathroom looked like it had fixtures from the 1970’s. The location was nice but we’ll be staying elsewhere that’s updated and cleaner.

  My dog was given free boarding with me at La Quinta. The only request next time is to be on the first floor.

  Slow tub drain

  The shower/tub drain can't handle the volume of water from the showerhead which has only a control for hot or cold temperature, not volume. By the end of my shower, I was standing in water that was above my ankles. Ten minutes after I left the shower, the tub was still draining slowly.

  Nice place

  On checkin they gave me ground level without having to ask for it. It was clean. The free breakfast was great. They had pet waste bags outside. I’d definitely stay again.

  It was okay

  Pros: they had a nice Continental breakfast, they did allow dogs... and there was also a bed. The cons: It was extremely difficult to enter the location.. you have to only enter from one direction and have to loop around to get to the entrance. The rooms were not very clean... I did a wipe down, the floors were dirty, the smell of the hall and room were pretty bad the first day.
