There aren’t many options where one can bring a cat in DeKalb, Illinois and we were grateful for this one. Especially because I needed a place to leave the cat while I attended a church funeral. The employees really care about the hotel and are passionate about keeping it up. I believe the hotel is now 100% non-smoking, however either that was not always the case, or other customers have violated the policy. Room 122, smelled like stale smoke and there were cigarette burns on the sink countertop and edge of the bathtub.
What I really liked about this hotel:

* Quiet
* Lots of grassy areas around hotel for walking
* functionalWhat didn’t go so well:
* Stale smoke smell in room
* No Wifi service in room
* Freezer tray in mini fridge was covered in 3.5” of frost and fridge froze my food at a mid-temperature setting.I would definitely recommend this hotel again, because I do not think there are better options in the area, and this suited our needs fine.
