Excellent breakfast. Very nice and clean room. Pet friendly with large green yard in front of the hotel. Check in person was very nice and helpful.

BW Shepardsville was a pit stop on our trip, and after a couple of bad nights it was nice to have a quiet place to lay our heads. It is an older hotel, but was clean and well cared for. We will stop again on our next trip.

This was our dogs first hotel stay on a cross country trip and the Best Western was a great start. Friendly front desk staff gave us a choice of rooms upstairs or down and we ended up on the first floor with easy short access to the grassy areas outside. Hotel is basic but clean and has a nice pool area. Front desk staff was great for giving suggestions of places we could enjoy with our dogs. We didn’t find any dog friendly restaurants nearby but our dogs were fine staying in the room when we went out to eat across the freeway. Didn’t spot any restaurants close to hotel - the Denny’s they list is closed, but there are plenty of places just a five-minute drive away across I-65. This hotel is also close to the Bourbon Trail.
- SueMar 28, 2021Ok for pets but smells like cigarettes and they have an ant problem.
First off, the woman at the front desk was very kind and welcoming. I have no complaints at all with the staff. I had booked a non-smoking room and again confirmed with the lady at the front desk that our room would be non-smoking. She said that all the rooms were non-smoking. This was not the case. The hallway and our room reeked of cigarette smoke. I could hardly sleep and had to put my face mask on all night. The smell of cigarettes was strong throughout the hotel. As far as bringing the dog, it was fine. The hotel was very nice about dogs. In the morning, I woke up and there were 5 or 6 little bugs crawling on my bed. I screamed and jumped out of bed and we (my family) examined the bed and found out they in fact were not bed bugs (Thank goodness!), but instead ants. That was enough, it was 6:30 am and we left as fast as we could.

We stayed 2 nights with our 2 BMD s. $25 per night pet fee. Large hotel that felt fairly old but it was clean throughout. It did have the stuffy smell of a closed in older place but not horrible. We were placed at the rear by a door on the main floor. Some grassy areas for dogs . Overall it was a fine place considering we were only there to relax and sleep in the evening. I won't comment on breakfast due to still in covid land. Bottled water available on request. We would stay again.
