I came here with my pet expecting that I was staying at a four star hotel. Nothing was further from the truth. After driving eleven hours from Georgia, I arrived at the hotel only to be told I did not have a reservation. After I insisted that I did the Desk Reservationist finally looked and found my reservation. Then I was informed that my reservation did not include a pet. At this point I found my BringFido confirmation and showed her my complete pre-paid reservation. Then I was asked if my dog was 20 pounds or less (I have a Sheltie) I indicated he was not and again, showed her the BringFido reservation, Pet Policy for the Westin, which indicates pets are accepted if they are 30 pounds or less. Again, this was supposed to be a four star hotel, yet there was no Bell Person to assist with my bags and no Valet. I had to get my own luggage to the room and park my car which concerned me as I read a review which indicated cars were broken into at this hotel during that guest's stay at the Westin.
Once in the room, the drapes were falling down, the control panel below the air conditioning unit was coming off the wall and the toilet was dirty and took three flushes before it cleared itself. I am so glad I brought Clorox Wipes so I could wipe everything down. I went to complain to the Manager, but there was not one on duty. The Desk Reservationist asked if I wanted to move. Given I was already exhausted, I did not wish to pack up and move myself and my dog. Mistakes can happen and I appreciate that fact, but I never received an apology about not having a reservation for me and that my dog was not included in the Reservation. My stay started out pretty bad, but the next day my room repairs were made and the room cleaned so it got better. The hotel did not have bags to clean up behind my dog so bring your own bags like I did. All and all the hotel was okay. But I think I’ll stay at the Townsend my next visit back home.
