Room & hallways had a musty/moldy odor. The telephone system didn't work. Front desk clerk said a new fiber cable system would be installed "in a few days." Neither of the 2 TV remotes worked. The clerk said to use the buttons located on the back side of the TV. There was a grassy area outside the back of the building for dog walking. I do not recommend staying here.

The person who described this as a little rough, but clean was spot on. The area itself appears okay(?). The hotel abuts a small pond (no swimming), another hotel, and some apartments. The hallways and ceiling clearly needed maintenance. The furniture in the room was older, but the room was very clean. The tub/shower was an interesting experience...the tub was very broken and they put some sort of sticky sheeting stuff on top of it to hold it together but I could feel the entire bottom was very broken and actually thought I might fall through (side note, it must leak water into the floor below). The in the room air seemed stale, but the window opened (no screen) and the AC worked. Stayed one night on a weekday. For the price, it was clean and otherwise comfortable. Note: they plan to renovate this upcoming winter (and possibly turn it into a Quality Inn.

The neighborhood feels a little sketchy and the outer door of the hotel that leads to the hallway and rooms is left open which was unsettling, but the room was clean and the staff friendly. We worried about our car outside but it was fine.

The Rodeway Inn has a lovely area in the back for both dogs and people. Easy check-in and friendly staff. We had our dinner delivered and were able to leave the dog in our room while we ate in the dining area of the lobby. The room was clean and had plenty of space for us and the Labrador. Two reasons for knocking one bone off the rating:
1) The entire place had a stale smell from the smoking rooms. It wasn’t overwhelming, but it was noticeable.
2) No exterior access from the room. I prefer that when traveling with Miss Beast.
Bonus points for proximity to Dog Island, a fantastic off-leash free dog park 5 minutes down the road.

I mean, it’s a cheap room in the middle of nowhere Nebraska, so my standards weren’t high, I was exhausted and just wanted a place to sleep. There were signs of it not being cleaned properly, hair ties next to the bed. My friend had gotten a room too and his towels were DIRTY. It doesn’t smell great. Everyone was nice. Just not happy with the cleaning, especially in the age of COVID.
