The Space:
Situated on 1 hectare of gardens and woodland you will have access to the entire house as your own private & secluded getaway. Vine Creek Cottage offers country charm in this cool microclimate on the edge of the rainforest.
A large log burner in the main living room creates a cosy atmosphere on cooler evenings and the elevation of the property itself provides relief from the heat and humidity of the coast.
The property provides access to Vine Creek, a permanent running creek which lies on the western boundary. There are shaded meandering pathways down from the house and along the creek bank. This section of the creek has a couple of pools and cascading rapids which run quite deep in parts.
Among the wildlife you might encounter are water dragons, turtles, platypus, pretty face wallabies, rabbits and myriad bird life, including cormorants, kingfishers, rosellas, rainbow lorikeets, sulphur crested cockatoos among countless others.
Conveniently located within a 10 min drive of various shops, a bank, chemist, post office, bakery, grocery stores, art galleries & cafes, not to mention Queensland’s highest pub, being one of 2 in the town. There is also an excellent Visitor Centre.
This light and airy home is designed for Tablelands living and provides 3 large bedrooms, all of which open out onto spacious verandas. All the bedrooms are tastefully furnished with a homely feel and large enough to accommodate a king bed, as does the main bedroom. The 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed and the 3rd has twin beds which can be made up as a 2nd king. This home also features two bathrooms, both with double vanities, showers and heated towel rails, the main also has a bathtub & bidet.

The kitchen is supplied with tea, coffee, salt, pepper and oil & all the amenities you need for your stay away from home. Located next to the kitchen is a breakfast bar with 3 stools for informal dining alongside the 8-seater dining setting which sits beneath a high timber ceiling with one of two sky lights allowing the natural light to stream in. Ceiling fans feature throughout the property, including all three bedrooms and the main living and dining area.
A Barbecue is provided on the veranda along with a 6-seater outdoor dining setting and separate lounge chairs to take in the picturesque countryside whilst listening to the sound of the rushing creek. A relaxing place to watch the sun go down over the distant hills whilst enjoying a glass of your favourite tipple.
The large fireplace in the living room for the cool winter nights really gives you that classic homely feel. An ideal place to sit back and relax at the end of the day.
