  Very accommodating for travelers with pets, It was a long drive that in the past we drove round trip. Speaking for us, the staff was pleasant and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and included convenient appliances. There is a grassy area to quickly relieve the dogs and breakfast food in the morning for us that was totally adequate.

  Good Place

  Probably the best value priced motel I stayed in on my recent 20-day road trip. Most value places have at least a bit of sketchy-ness. This Comfort Inn was a well-designed, well-constructed building, clean and neat. The serve an actual real breakfast with eggs and such. Just one thing, it's about 15 minutes from 81, it is not the most convenient to the highway. It wasn't busy, but that might change during certain times of the year related to their proximity to Virginia Tech.

  Great For Dogs and People

  People at the hotel were friendly and welcoming. Plenty of grass to walk the dog. All pets are on the first floor so there are no elevators and it's a short walk out. Good full breakfast with bacon, scrambled eggs, waffles, and other things.

  Comfortable stay

  The room was clean and pleasant and the king size bed was comfortable as well. It’s very nice that they don’t charge a pet fee. Our only minor complaint is that the HVAC system was ancient and had a hard time getting to a comfortable temperature.

  Perfect stop for people and pets

  Nothing fancy, just a solid good place to stay during a long drive from Philadelphia to Atlanta. Clean and nice amenities for both people and dogs (ice cold lemon water in lobby was a treat). Plenty of luggage carts so I could haul cat carrier and litter box and all my stuff up in one trip. Nice grounds for the pup to stretch her old legs too.

  Disappointing Experience

  The staff of the hotel was very friendly; however, the room left something to be desired. Apparently, the carpet in the room was recently cleaned and our socks and/or feet got wet when we walked on it. There was a significant dampness and smell in the room that was further verified when we found a Damp Rid packet hanging in the closet. The water pressure from the sink and shower was terrible. The AC unit was not cooling properly and was extremely loud keeping us up throughout the night. We decided after one night that we would not be staying for our second.

  Convenient for all of us!

  All three of us (two humans and one dog) found the hotel comfortable and convenient for our quick trip to Virginia Tech. The outdoor area was large and well-kept for pets and humans alike. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large, clean, and quiet. We will surely return!

  Nice staff, but kind of a dump

  The staff was excellent, very kind, but the room was filthy and smelled of urine (human, not dog!). There were cobwebs everywhere and I killed 3 large bugs that were crawling across the desk. I don't know what roaches look like, but i think that's what they were. The toiletries in the bathroom had been USED!! They were not new, so I didn't dare use them. Who knows what someone could have put in them. Excellent coffee and breakfast in the morning though. One other negative is that the dog walk area is the same as the smoking area, so if your pup tends to pick up things they shouldn't, this might not be the place for you. And because it is a college town, the price was twice what I would pay elsewhere, especially for a shabby, dirty room.

  Rolled into Blacksburg late and it was the only hotel with a vacancy that took pets. At $89/night and no pet fee it was cheap enough, but the toilet plunger left in the hallway, the non-functioning toilet, and the heavy smell of cigarette smoke throughout made me hesitant to stay again.

  Always Reliable

  I've stayed several times with my dog at the Comfort Inn Blacksburg. The accommodations are always clean, the bedding is comfortable, and there's a lovely green space in the back for dogs. El Mariachi next door is good, especially after a harrowing road trip on I-81. Thumbs up, Comfort Inn Blacksburg!

  The property was fine. Clean and convenient to town and highways. It was actually on a pretty big road with not much acreage, so not private at all but there was enough grass to walk my dog and reception was very nice and friendly.

  Super nice staff who love dogs. We have two German shepherds and this was our first stop in a cross-country trip, so we were appreciative of staff’s advice. Good Mexican restaurant next door, where we had dinner and knew if anything happened on their first night alone in a hotel we could run back quickly ( nothing did and dinner was good). Hotel has nice, large green area for dogs. We walk ours a few miles each day, and that was more difficult: we had to cross main roads and really look for places. The room was clean, but small and did have a damp odor.
