    Fred & Ethel's Lantern Light

    Fred and Ethel's Lantern Light is a Galloway staple and a popular meeting place for drinks. There are eight dog-friendly tables outside, but dogs are not allowed on the deck and must be leashed and sit on the outside of the small fence. They offer weekday lunch specials like Mexican Mondays or the Friday seafood nights, and live entertainment every Friday and Saturday night. Beer lovers will find eight brews on tap and a whole host of craft beers. The bar also serves a long list of house cocktails and a small wine menu. Fred and Ethel's Lantern Light serves lunch every day from 11:30amto 4:30pm and dinner from 4:30pm to 9:00pm. The tavern is open Sunday through Thursday until 10:00pm and Friday through Saturday until 12:00am. Visit Website

      Dog Friendly Patio and Outdoor Tent!

      Dogs were allowed with owners on patio and under the parking lot tent. We did not have to tie up our dog by a fence. I gave them a four star because they did not offer water to our dog during our visit. However, I did have water for him :)

      We were seated under the tent in the parking lot area. Very shady and comfortable. Chickens walking around the Smithville shop area and by Fred and Ethel’s which provided some entertainment for our hairy kid. lol

      The food and beverage menu is limited but was good. Our server was friendly and we had good service. We visited twice during our stay in the Galloway area in June 2021.

      Dogs were Plentiful!

      Another great lunch with our pup at Fred & Ethel’s! Plenty of outside seating on a 70 degree day in December!

      Not dog friendly

      Specifically came to Smithville because restaurant was on your site. Dog was not allowed in the restaurant area but had to be tied to a fence on sidewalk. Please remove them from your site

      They want you to tie your dog to the fence so your dog is on the sidewalk on a street with car and walking traffic. Not dog friendly!!!

      The food is good however if you bring your dog they will not let the dog on the patio area.... they said the dog had to be tied on the outside of the fence. We will not be back with ours.... disappointment

      Does Not Allow Pets

      They do not even allow pets in the outdoor section. The only place you can eat with your pets in Smithville is the Greek or Italian places. You can sit in the Greek place and you can take out of the Italian.

      Keeping your dog tied to a fence and out of your reach is not a dog friendly restaurant!
