  The owner of this place first refused to allow my son and his dog in

  My son Andrew is a disabled Army veteran amputee. Yesterday he and 5 other veterans went to eat there because they advertise being dog friendly. Due to my son's amputation, he has a service dog. The owner of this place first refused to allow my son and his dog in and once he did he continued to berate my son and complained about having to let him and his dog in. So much for Toccoa Riverside Restaurant being pet or Vet friendly! Please help me show them our displeasure of the owner and his nasty attitude!!

  Great food in Blue Ridge!

  Our first dining experience at this restaurant and we were impressed! Enjoyed the pup’s porch with fans keeping us cool. Taylor, our server, brought water for Tasia and her own special menu. She ordered the chicken, and we were pleasantly surprised when it arrived at the table in a dog bowl AND they had already cut it into small pieces for her!! That is a first out of all of our dining experiences. Our food was delicious, the service was great and desserts are crazy good. I highly recommend the scallops and carrot cake. We plan to visit again.

  Not a Good place to bring your pup...

  If you are happy sitting in the dog kennel 'Pooch Porch ' staring at the parking lot then this is the place to be. If you actually want to sit by the river and enjoy the view then go somewhere else - pups not welcome!!!

  Good time!

  The pecan crusted trout was delicious! All of our meals were great! Sat on the Pup Porch. A little cold but there was water for our dog and even a treat! Enjoyed our time there!

  Disappointed Roadside

  Wait Staff was wonderful. Menu provided a good variety to choose from without too many items to overwhelm. Food was ok, but was expecting local seafood, hopefully from the river the restaurant sits on. Most of the seafood offered I could get back home on the Florida Panhandle. Even the rainbow trout was farm raised. I was excited about the pup porch with a pup menu that was being advertised, but was extremely disappointed to find the pup porch didn't even have a river view. We specifically went so we could watch the river flow by and allow the dogs to enjoy the sites as well. All we got to see was traffic passing by the restaurant while all of the locals set on the back deck. Our babies are trained and well-mannered. Even when I asked about sitting on the back deck by the river, I was told no, they had to stay in the designated pup area. Restaurant has so much potential. Good luck!

  Pooch Patio

  Special patio just for people with their dogs. Food was good, but a little on the pricier side. Staff was super friendly and helpful with suggesting businesses in the area. Community dog bowl instead of individual per table.

  Great place to bring your pup!

  We had so much fun bringing our puppy to Tocoa Riverside Restaurant. They offer a special screened in "pups porch" with a big waterbowl and even a special Canine Menu! We had a wonderful meal, friendly service and love bringing our pooch here!

  Great food, no view

  the puppy porch is not on the river, you can go down to the river with your pups, you cannot sit there though. We really enjoyed the food.

  Great Friday afternoon lunch

  We ate on the Pooch Porch with our 2 labs. There were 4 other dogs nearby who were all well behaved except the occasional bark from the little one. Blackened chicken sandwich, fried pickles and cheesy grits were all good and hit the spot after a long morning's hike.

  Had high hopes

  You don’t get to eat on the river and no dog menu.
  No one was really even friendly to our sweet girl.
  Don’t see us going back.

  Puppy Porch

  Enjoyed our dinner, but didn’t realize that the dog-friendly seating is in a side porch rather than the main porch overlooking the river. There is a back area where you can wander or wait for a table that is beautiful and right on the river. The restaurant it outside of the Blue Ridge city limits, so does not serve alcohol on Sundays. Stag was great and very attentive to the dog. The food was good with ample portions.

  Super Friendly

  Server on the “pups porch” took very good care of us. They don’t have the doggie menu anymore but it was no problem to order a chicken breast and sweet potatoes for our pupper. Will go back.

  Nice Outing

  We were taking a Sunday drive not really having a destination in mind. We had our Charming with us. So, we needed a pet friendly place. Thanks to BrindFido we can across this place. The pooch porch was nice. I agree, it would have been nice to see the river. They have water bowls for your dog and the added touch of a doggy menu was nice. Service was a little slow but the food was good and reasonably priced. We would go back.

  Great spot, super dog friendly.

  We stumbled upon this restaurant after visiting nearby waterfalls. They have a “Pooch Porch” on the side (unfortunately not river front) that is well equipped for your babies. The porch is covered and there are many hooks on the railings to attach leashes. The porch is quite spacious, plenty of fresh water and even a dog specific menu!! The human food was just okay but absolutely worth eating to have that dining experience.
