Pet tolerant
Lodging on the SquareI will say it is a interesting town and very clean and tourist friendly, but since this is a pet review I have to conclude that overall it is barely pet tolerant and nowhere is very accommodating of dogs. The room for pets was expensive and small, but had no area for the pet to relieve themselves; all concrete areas no grass around except for neighboring sites. The people were tolerant of dogs but not a good dog friendly place. The one restaurant recommended as pet friendly had 3 dirty tables with two chairs right outside the parking area and in the sun, no cover. I would recommend this area as it is unique, but not if you really expect dog-friendly environments.

Pet acceptable
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Myrtle Beach - N Kings HwyThe hotel was nice and clean. There was a large area for dogs. The room was large and clean with hard floors and no lingering pet odors. nice place to stay. Just a small complaint and a recommendation to people with pets staying there. They did not allow pets in many of the common areas and lobby. It kind put you in a box like just in the room and pet area outside for dogs. That's just me, just a SMALL observation. I still recommend this hotel with some adjustments to your dog's behavior. NOW for pet owners in the dog area there are poop bags and a disposal provided. I FOUND SEVERAL AREAS WITH DOG POOP ON THE SIDEWALK AND THE PET PARK NOT PICKED UP BY THE PET OWNERS. If you want these and other hotels to be/remain pet friendly, PICK UP YOUR DOGS' POOP!!!

Needs cleaning
Best Western Plus Inn at Valley ViewThis hotel was pet friendly and accommodated your dog with a dog area outside and poop bags and trash receptacle for disposal. The problem was very strong pet odor in the room. Also the room was not pet ready; carpet on the floors and very little room for your dog to stretch out. I think the carpeting was the source of the odor. The staff was friendly and the areas were pet friendly and accessible, but the carpet and strong odor was a problem. Either have pet friendly hard floors or shampoo the carpets more often.
