Very nice hotel

We found the My Place Hotel in Rapid City to be clean, well-maintained and very suitable to our needs. There was a nice grassy spot for our dog to do his business, outside doors locked nicely, and the decor was up to date and very nice. Puzzling, though was the kitchenette complete with dish soap and dish towels as there were no kitchen implements of any kind; no dishes, utensils or pots. I wonder if they expect guests to bring all of this themselves? I cannot comment on the continental breakfast as we went out to eat. My only reservation when getting this room was the apparent lack of close by restaurants, but there was a Perkins and a truck stop restaurants close enough by that we didn't have to get on the highway to get to them. Overall we found the hotel most satisfactory.

Motel seen better days

This place would do if you aren't staying more than a night. We were there over 4th of July weekend and the restaurants were both closed which gave us little to choose than fast food near by. They had made a half hearted attempt of upscaling the decor by putting in toilet paper holder and towel racks to match the bronze fixtures of the sink. Both fell off the wall when used. And it was obvious that the old ones had been removed as the wall had not been patched or painted when the new ones were installed.

There was a nice grassy place for my little dog to do his business, but that was convenient because our room was in the front. Rooms in the back had to make do with overgrown weeds and gravel. The WiFi was difficult to get into and spotty at times. But perhaps the most disconcerting thing was that the outside doors never locked. You didn't have to use your key card to get in unless the person who last used the door pulled it hard to have it properly latch. We did find it clean and perfectly suitable for a very inexpensive stay of one night.

Clean and well appointed

We found this place to be very clean and nicely maintained. There was a very roomy grassy area for our dog to do his “stuff”. The price was reasonable. My only complaint was that we needed to go downtown to get a decent dinner, but even this was a plus because we got to see more of Eau Claire.

Corona didn't affect us

We had an excellent stay at the Best Western Plus, despite the Corona virus difficulties.. The only downside to the stay was that they had no fresh coffee in the morning.
