Mostly good - Yoshi had a couple complaints

Virgin River Hotel and Casino

The good:
- Hard floors in "pet friendly rooms". Nothing I hate worse than gross carpet in a pet suite, these have hard floors.
- Clean rooms. The cleaning crew / housekeeping is relentless! They are moving at 8am, and they spend a lot of time in each room, really getting it clean. Our room was spotless
- Friendly staff. They were really nice, and nice to Yoshi. They didnt have a problem w/ me walking her in there on checkout/checkin
- Dog bag availability. While the dog bags kinda sucked (they are more like produce bags you'd find in a grocery store produce section) they are there, and helpful if needed.
- Tolerance. Yoshi was a little scared when we first got there, and I crated her when I had to. She barked for like ten mins in the room, and then settled down. As long as your pet isnt crazily disruptive, they are cool w/ some "adjustment time".
-Clean grounds (for the most part). There's a huge staff, and they are all over the place cleaning up any trash, cigarette butts, accidents, whatever, in guest areas. Not so much in the "pet area" (read on below)
- It's cheap! You're looking at about 40 bucks a night, 27 + 10 dollar pet fee. That's not bad, considering the rate of most hotels pre-pet considerations is 50+.

The Bad:
- There are no real designated "pet areas" per se, except at the back of the property, there is basically tons of broken up concrete, construction leftovers, etc. in a big dirt lot. That's the de-facto "pet area", and sorry - it sucks. And there's dog crap everywhere, so dont go galavanting out there in the dark, or you'll be cleaning your shoes (and paws). It just doesnt feel safe either, with debris everywhere, and there's broken glass here and there. Do NOT venture out there at night, and be careful during the day.
- The Cafe does not take call-in orders for pickup. For people w/ pets, it's good to be able to call in food to go. Walk in, pay and go. Not here, you have to physically go in and order at the counter, in a busy casino, and that can take a while to even order, let alone complete the whole thing, while an ancy pet is waiting in a new environment. Come on, get w/ the times here Virgin River Casino. You can risk a 20 dollar to go order, for your guest convenience (that is probably dropping hundreds).

Overall, it was a good experience, and the place was cheap and clean. There's lots of food available, and the staff is great. "Pet Friendly", however, just means that they tolerate pets and accomodate them from a self-serving angle. And that's fine, it works for what it is, a place you can stay w/ a pet. But they do not go out of there way to provide pet-friendly services or atmosphere.
