- SandiJan 14, 2024Just okay
What can you actually expect for $28.
- DanielOct 25, 2023Fair location
When we arrived I took my pet in to get my room. An individual decided that it was OK to just reach out and try to pet her. After a long car ride she was in no mood and barked at him. Then a security guard wanted me to leave. I explained that all I wanted was to get my room and this Individual should not have randomly reached for her. He said he saw the whole thing. Whatever, the room was loud, old, and they don't have a designated area for the pets to relieve themselves; the area used has stickers and such. They should take the money they charge for pets and build a grassy area for the pets. I won't be staying there on my trip home.
- AngelaJun 7, 2023Inexpensive quality room
Loved the laminated flooring. Was a clean & comfortable room. Liked that there were 2 pools to choose from.
- JessicaJun 5, 2023Good price
Price was super cheap, but the tub was dirty and the bottom bed sheets were stained.
- GaryMay 2, 2023Restless night
Very noisy, second floor out of three.
- StevenApr 23, 2023Easy check in
Flawless from online booking to check in and check out. Room was a bit dated but clean. It was a great stopover on our road trip.
- KathyNov 14, 2022Good price, but limited walk areas
A very popular place for dog owners, very good price. But the huge walking area behind the property is full of sharp burrs that got stuck in our dog paws and totally filled the bottom of our shoes with little spikes. We didn’t realize how dangerous they were until our dog started lifting his paws and then we were sorry we ventured in there with our pooch. That limits the area you can walk your dog to just a few rocky areas.
- RosemaryOct 19, 2022Great prices, great dog fees
Great prices, affordable dog fee! And steak night buffet was outstanding!!!
- MarjorieOct 7, 2022Dog friendly
Room was old, tub was in bad shape, dresser was broke. Although pet friendly, would not stay again.
- CherylSep 20, 2022Just About Everyone Had Dogs
The rooms were okay. We had adjoining rooms for 3 adults and 3 dogs. It was a little difficult to find where to register as the desk is in the casino. It's a budget hotel with budget quality rooms. No frills like a coffee maker, mini fridge, or microwave.
- Tom & CheriSep 20, 2022Virginia River Hotel
The room was adequate for our long journey. Very antiquated rooms, warm water in shower not hot, air conditioner old for a very hot area.
- JanetSep 2, 2022Dog Friendly Rooms
The hotel offers dog friendly rooms with non carpet flooring to assist their staff with easy cleaning. It is nothing fancy and rooms are similar to a Motel 6, but they allow fur babies 😀 and are inexpensively priced. My recommendation for hotel would be to have specific rooms for cats as many people are allergic to cats. We might have stayed longer, but there must have been a cat in the room in near past setting off our allergies. Would have given higher rating if room was a little more updated.
- JimJun 27, 2022Good place but...
This was a fun place to stay - an old casino. Room was adequate and price was great. Clean and well equipped. The only drawback was the rudeness of front desk staff - 3 of them.
- LorieMay 8, 2022Excellent
Traveling with a pet, this is perfect. It’s basic and comfortable.
- CatherineFeb 26, 2022Modest ok room
No special dog amenity except they allow modest stay in room alone time for dog. Otherwise, the bare bones of a very low-priced room. Clean and warm.
- RobertNov 7, 2021Always GOOD for pets. $10 pet charge.
This is just a bare bones place to stay. The price is very goid Sun to Thurs. All wood floors. Parking and security is great. There is no in room coffee which is really quite annoying and chinsy in my opinion. It's a LONG walk to the casino Starbucks from the pet bldg and costly too but they refill for cheap. Keep your cup and receipt. Prepare to wait in line before showering. This no coffee thing is the worse thing about this place. No micro or fridge. And no wake up calls. And very limited food places around. Also noisy inconsiderate guests checking in at 2 am next door was horrible. I would stay here again though for the low price. Thanks
- ArleneNov 3, 2021You get what you pay for
$27 room w/2 queen beds furnished with less quality than Motel 6. Room was quiet, away from casino. Poop bags available. Dog walk area nasty and dirty desert dirt with lots of poop left by other dog owners.
- TamiNov 1, 2021Excellent
We had everything we needed and it was great rest on the road with the puppy.
- KarenOct 8, 2021Convenient & friendly
We enjoyed our stay and were so happy to have Papi with us. Casino was great and the Mesquite area has everything you need. Price was excellent too!
- KimberlySep 2, 2021Not great but okay
Booked a pet friendly room on BringFido and got there and there wasn't a room available. We had to wait for an overfill room to become available.
- JeffJun 26, 2021Thumbs down
Had I known the billboards say $27 I would have lowered my expectations. It’s a $27 dollar room, not $99. Much better options, book with caution.
- TracyMay 11, 2021Ok location
Took a long time to get our hotel keys. The hallway on the second floor smells like pet urine. Beds and pillows uncomfortable. But room was clean.
- MichelleMar 4, 2021Great location near Gold Butte National Monument for hiking
Basic room for great price. Only complaint was our non-smoking room smelled like smoke...maintaintence was going to come and spray but never showed.
- AnneJan 26, 2021Perfect road stop
Nothing great here, but simple and clean overall. Imagine a Motel 6. Clean but don't expect shampoo or coffee makers. I personally don't like casinos, but their food and rooms are a good value. Don't let the price put you off.
- DebJan 10, 2021Dated rooms
Definitely the place to stay if you want a cheap room for the night. Decor is dated but the bed was comfortable. The casino is very large and the restaurants food was good
- MarianneSep 19, 2020Great exerience
I was traveling with my pitbull Harley and decided to stop to rest for the night. Not familiar with the area, I was able to locate pet friendly hotels using BringFido. I arrived at my location hours before check in, tired and not sure what to do with Harley when I checked in. I called the number on my confirmation and it was someone with BringFido. They called the hotel but were unable to get through. She told me to take Harley inside with me to check in. Harley is trained but many only see the breed. Hesitantly I went inside with Harley to register and to my surprise everyone was so nice. They had my reservation and checked us in. I was also given a map of the grounds, so I could find the building of our room. The room was so nice. Hardwood flooring, high beds, and clean. I was able to relax with Harley and was glad I found this site.
- ShellySep 13, 2020It worked out
This place isn't bad for the price. The room was large, the beds reasonably comfy and the AC worked and it seemed clean, except for a piece of kibble or 2. Its bare bones (so to speak) there is no mini fridge or in room coffee. There is a large dirt area across the parking area for taking care of dog business, no grass any where at all, if that's important to your dog. Check-in is just inside the main casino entrance. If its the middle of the day you won't find any shade to park the car while you check in. The staff all seemed friendly and helpful.
- TonyJun 16, 2020not good for small dogs
the only thing good about was the price
when i booked room i asked for a first floor room
(because it is hard for me to walk)
they gave me a 2nd floor as far away
from the elevator as possible,
room is plain as could be 2 beds a tv a table and small dresser
hardwood floors tall bed made it real hard for my
small dog to get up on,
bathroom shower was dirty,
at night heard people at all hours stomping around
and talking car alarms going off we are talking as late as 4 am
could not get a good night sleep - GaryFeb 9, 2020Good Place
Virgin River is a good place to stay with a dog.
- JasonDec 14, 2019Mostly good - Yoshi had a couple complaints
The good:
- Hard floors in "pet friendly rooms". Nothing I hate worse than gross carpet in a pet suite, these have hard floors.
- Clean rooms. The cleaning crew / housekeeping is relentless! They are moving at 8am, and they spend a lot of time in each room, really getting it clean. Our room was spotless
- Friendly staff. They were really nice, and nice to Yoshi. They didnt have a problem w/ me walking her in there on checkout/checkin
- Dog bag availability. While the dog bags kinda sucked (they are more like produce bags you'd find in a grocery store produce section) they are there, and helpful if needed.
- Tolerance. Yoshi was a little scared when we first got there, and I crated her when I had to. She barked for like ten mins in the room, and then settled down. As long as your pet isnt crazily disruptive, they are cool w/ some "adjustment time".
-Clean grounds (for the most part). There's a huge staff, and they are all over the place cleaning up any trash, cigarette butts, accidents, whatever, in guest areas. Not so much in the "pet area" (read on below)
- It's cheap! You're looking at about 40 bucks a night, 27 + 10 dollar pet fee. That's not bad, considering the rate of most hotels pre-pet considerations is 50+.The Bad:
- There are no real designated "pet areas" per se, except at the back of the property, there is basically tons of broken up concrete, construction leftovers, etc. in a big dirt lot. That's the de-facto "pet area", and sorry - it sucks. And there's dog crap everywhere, so dont go galavanting out there in the dark, or you'll be cleaning your shoes (and paws). It just doesnt feel safe either, with debris everywhere, and there's broken glass here and there. Do NOT venture out there at night, and be careful during the day.
- The Cafe does not take call-in orders for pickup. For people w/ pets, it's good to be able to call in food to go. Walk in, pay and go. Not here, you have to physically go in and order at the counter, in a busy casino, and that can take a while to even order, let alone complete the whole thing, while an ancy pet is waiting in a new environment. Come on, get w/ the times here Virgin River Casino. You can risk a 20 dollar to go order, for your guest convenience (that is probably dropping hundreds).Overall, it was a good experience, and the place was cheap and clean. There's lots of food available, and the staff is great. "Pet Friendly", however, just means that they tolerate pets and accomodate them from a self-serving angle. And that's fine, it works for what it is, a place you can stay w/ a pet. But they do not go out of there way to provide pet-friendly services or atmosphere.
- DonnaNov 21, 2019Easy place for dogs. Hotel room is very basic.
- TrishOct 31, 2019Very clean
For a $27 pet room I have never been so impressed. It was very clean, didn’t smell the previous dogs who have stayed there. My 2 pugs weren’t anxious about other dogs in the beds like most pet rooms do. They slept like it was there own bed. The pet area is big and well lit at night.
Housekeeping people were fantastic and very friendly. Especially the housekeeping supervisor. Gave extra towels when needed and said good morning every morning.
Most impressive! - AngelicaOct 1, 2019Great for the dogs
Other than the front desk being a bit unprofessional and cold it was a fantastic stay!
- LynnAug 16, 2019super economical
We had a couple of nice rooms and the dog had her own bed
- RandalJul 20, 2019Good For Dogs
Stayed here with two dogs. It was clean and comfortable and cheap. Service is not a forte, but if you’re ready for that it’s doable. Decent food at casino.
- AmandaJan 24, 2019Great Hotel
We stayed at this hotel on 1-24-19 and the service was great check in was 3 minutes and found our room fast. We had a dog and baby with us and were very happy with the room (no carpet). Breakfast was great at the cafe. Highly recommend this hotel with your pets!!
- JulieMore than a year agoDon't stay here!
Omg! Where do I begin. Dog poop outside our door upon our arrival. Walls so thin I'm sure they are made out of cardboard. So noisy!. I could hear the guy next door. People above sounded like they were moving furniture. No sleep. Pet rooms Do Not look like the pics on wen site. Dirt, dirty. My feet were so dirty walking around the room. The remote control to the Tv was scary to touch! Stay away! Do not stay!
