Just Fine
Muttland MeadowsWe visit this park mostly during the week and during the day. My pup likes to keep to himself, we usually go to get him some exercise along with him to play with his tennis ball. The park itself is massive. Great to walk around but also not great as many don't pay attention to what their pups are doing. While my pup is a big dog there is no area just for small dogs. I do believe this park would be so much better if it was run like county dog parks were with registration and maintenance checks. They do do a great job keeping the wood chips coming and the dog bags/scoopers plentiful.
Very Dog Friendly
The WaffleLocation is great with it being right in Hollywood. Ordered some Woofles from the menu for the pups. They were very accommodating to both the pups I had along. They brought out a water bowl and actually refilled it once. The breakfast itself was good, service was great even though she was training someone. Brought a bone for my pups to enjoy and they were set for the whole breakfast.
Amazing Stay
Drury Inn & Suites AmarilloMy pup and I were just stopping through on our way home. Got in super late, doors were locked for safety - a nice feature. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was a great size, got a room with two queen beds (one for me, one for my pup.) The outside of the hotel had plenty of grass and trash cans for my pup to enjoy. The breakfast in the morning had a wonderful selection.
Hidden, but great
Griffith Park Dog ParkA great park with a small parking lot. The two parks here have so much space for pups to run around. Very easy for my pup to play fetch. Has some small patches of grass, but mainly dirt. We don't stay long as the dirt makes his paws hurt. They do have water stations.
Too much dirt
Silver Lake Dog ParkMy pup loves all dog parks but this one had way too much sand and dirt. He likes to play fetch so after one throw the ball was pretty gross and his paws get pretty beat up. Park is on a slope but has great shade at the top!
So much grass
Lake Hollywood ParkMy dog loves it here as it is a grass park versus dirt. While it is technically an on-leash park there are a lot of dogs off-leash. Great views of the Hollywood sign, easy parking and not a ton of people.
Great hike
Runyon Canyon ParkParking here is a nightmare, even on weekdays. But once you get to the park it is a great hike. My pup is a little older but can still make it all the way up without a problem. We prefer taking the paved way versus the stairs. Would 100% consider keeping your dog ON a leash here.
Small, not ideal for big dogs
Dog Park at William S. Hart ParkThe park is very small and on a slope. The fencing around the park is very short. Won't go back with my pup as he didn't have much room to fully run around with his tennis ball. Went here as WeHo Dog Park was closed. A great park for small dogs!
Perfect Spot
Arroyo Burro Beach (Hendry's Beach)Took a day trip from LA with my pup. The best dog beach we have been to in the area. Plenty of room to run around and to set up camp. Went during the week so it wasn't as busy. Parking was super easy with the parking lot right there. The views are also great!
Loved My Pup
Figueroa Mountain Brewing CompanyJust stopped for a quick lunch, had a pizza and a beer. Plenty of outdoor space for our pup along with others. Had a water station with dog bowls, great spot to stop!
Views = 100
Malibu Bluffs ParkBeautiful views. Would be a great stop for a picnic/lunch as they have a lot of picnic tables around. We stopped and just visited for about 5 minutes.
Relaxing
Leo Carrillo State ParkHave visited this dog beach twice. My pup loves to be active so this beach isn't quite for him but it is a nice spot to just relax as all you can hear are the waves crashing away. With it being an on-leash dog beach it is difficult for my pup to be active so we try to only visit when he needs a nice relaxing day.
