Always a grand stay!
GrandStay Hotel & SuitesWe discovered this chain on a trip out to SD, so I made a point of staying at another on the way home.
Clean, well appointed suite, competent and friendly staff made my pooches feel welcome, plenty of grassy area for their biz. Easy access location, standard fair breakfast.
Sweet location!
Connie Nott Canine AreaNice smaller dog park with two large dog areas and one small dog area in a small community park.
Plenty of room for our 50 pound girls to run off the crazy on our way thru on our roadtrip, with 6’ fences and water and poo bags available (Please use them, people!).
No restrooms for people though - why we didn’t throw down that fifth bone.
Nice enough, easy access to area attractions
Super 8 by Wyndham Hill City/Mt Rushmore/ AreaThe hotel itself was okay, polite and helpful staff. Older property with actual window unit ac (with a filthy filter that didn’t allow a lot of air exchange). Breakfast was bare minimum. Sorely lacking if you’re traveling with dogs; very little property beyond the building so tight parking and not much grass. If you’re traveling with pets for crap’s sake clean up after your pet; I tracked in poo on my first night because of walking in dark grass area and it wasn’t from my dogs. When you find a place that doesn’t take pets, there’s the reason - crappy owners. Please be responsible and respectful when moving around with your mutts!
Grand value, great stay
GrandStay Hotel and SuitesNice newer property with efficient and friendly staff- it was busy during our stay and yet in the room all was quiet! Spacious room with all amenities, decent grassy areas and lighting for dog walks. Standard issue breakfast fare somewhat stripped down due to COVID which was really the only complaint from hubby. If all Grand Stays are this good they will be my go-to if available.
Not for us!
Baymont by Wyndham Cedar RapidsVery industrial area, no real grass, rooms too small if you have large dogs and dog crates with you.
We did not even stay based on the above. And also some of the other guests didn’t give us a good feeling or hopes for sleep. There are far better value stays available.
Old standard
Quality Inn & Suites PeoriaOlder hotel, well kept (but still showing her years). Full breakfast. Nice, helpful staff. Decent value.
Enough grassy area for pet walks, but clientele during our stay was our downer. Can’t really fault the hotel for that though.
