    Nice dog park.

Chip enjoyed his visit to this park. Weather was fantastic as were the playmates that entered the park this morning. Plenty of room ro run, sniff and go about one' business! Best place for a not so beach friendly DESTINation.

    It’s an OK dog park

This was one of the only dog parks nearby while we were renting over the winter in Miramar Beach so we gave it a try. Went in the middle of the afternoon and it was pretty busy in the large dog area but empty in the small dog area. The people seemed friendly but what concerns me is the aggressive breeds allowed in the park. There were several pitbulls there and one made a bee-line for my pup (who was gently playing with another dog) and just started attacking him! The owner said that the dog ‘wouldn’t hurt my dog’ despite it being very obvious that he was currently doing just that. I had to pull the dog off my pup and the owner just watched. We then went over into another corner of the park to play and get some distance and the dog came running after my dog again. I looked over and saw someone bringing in a Presa Canario dog and that’s when I grabbed my pup and left. I don’t like writing off entire breeds of dog and have owned many large dogs including Dobermans and Rottweilers but I do believe that the natural instincts of some breeds pose a great threat to other dogs, particularly when placed in an environment that encourages aggressive pack-like behaviors like a dog park can. Be wary if you go here that this park seems to attract aggressive, potentially dangerous breeds.

    Great dog park!

The Destin dog park is centrally located next to City Hall and offers an area for puppies/smaller dogs and a separate larger area for bigger dogs. There are waste bags, water stations, toys and rakes to fill in holes. There are benches under small shade trees and it is well-lit at night. Local dog owners pretty much expect polite play and the park is funded by donations. Currently the park is closed on Tuesday mornings for maintenance.

    Great Dog Park!!

We're on vacation here in Destin for the months of October and November 2018, and we bring our small dog to the dog park almost daily and she loves it!! They have 2 sections for large or small dogs, poop bags, water fountains, and lights after 6:30pm. Everyone's friendly and inviting and there are a few toys provided, which is better than bringing your dog's favorite toy, as that tends to lead to guarding and aggression. We found out about dog-friendly restaurants, beaches (3), and festivals in the area during our stay, loved it!

    Good size

It is a nice sized dog park. There is an area for smaller dogs. I haven’t really seen anyone use it. All of the dog owners have been friendly and kind when I have gone. The dogs have been well behaved. Great space to run for your dog and be able to play.

    5 stars but 1 issue

This was a great place for our dog during vacation. We took her everyday, & she loved it. Fresh water, poop bags, some dog owners don't pick up but 95% does pick up. Love the sand areas to let dogs dig, it has a rake so owner can refill hole back up.
Only issue which isn't parks responsibility, owners need to stay close to there dog even while chatting, because dogs can get aggressive away from their owner and it can hurt others pets.
Destin area is pretty nice for dogs, lots of Dog friendly restaurants.

    Dog park

We visited the park everyday while on vacation. The locals were really friendly! The two sides (large dogs/small dogs) were spacious and had fresh water available.

    Nice!

Great save for dogs to run and play. Visited every day while on vacation. Local residents were very nice and recommended good places to visit with and without the dog!

    Well kept

Plenty of grass, shade, & a lot of friendly dogs. Some of the people we met said that you have to watch out for mean dogs.

    Destin sucks for dogs

It's not really against this dog park, but the city in general. I suppose it's better than nothing. Destin Florida is the most unfriendly city I've ever visited. Don't go if you have a dog. In fact I wouldn't go back ever.

This year I've been travelling with my dog from the east coast of Canada to Key west and back to Buffalo. We have visited lots of places, but never again, Destin.

    Great Park

We took our 2 Shih Tzus to the park 11/23/12. What a nice park. We were in the small dog side of course. Very nice grassy yard. Clean fresh water. They need donations and are hoping to add lights in the future. enjoyed benches and shade. Can't take dogs on the beaches which is what we came for, so glad to have a nice dog park.

    Nice Park but...

This is a really nice dog park, very clean and well layed out. They even have a water fountain for the dogs. My only problem is (and this does not reflect on the beauty of the park) is, we brought our 1 year old dog to play our first weekend in Destin. He's not an agressive dog AT ALL, actually more submisive but he's never ever had an issue with any dog and has been going to parks in Boston nightly his whole life. When we arrived there were about 10 dogs playing in seperate groups and it seemed fine but as soon as we walked in 2 pitbulls came lunging from acrross the park for him and started attacking him right at our feet. I've never had a problem with pitbulls before and had no prior prejudices against them but this was crazy. Luckily my husbad was able to grab our dog (who's only 45 pound) and hold him until the pits owners (seperate couples) came from the other side of the park. Our dog had bite marks on his ears, snout, sides and flanks and was bleeding a bit from his mouth. It could have been worse but thank God I wasn't by myself because I could never have pushed the pits away like my husband did. Another lady who was there told us her 10 month old aussi was attacked earlier in the week by another pitbull in the same park but was ok. I believe all dogs can be good dogs, and I hate to point the finger at pitbulls but this is not OK. Aggressive types should either have their own area or should be banned all together before some poor puppy gets killed.
