This is a box of sand with a wire fence around it both times I took my dog there I had to pull ticks off her when we got home and she never gets ticks there is no running water there's no poop bags there's no place to throw poop away there's no shade trees it is probably built by someone who really hates dogs

No shade, no water fountain, no poop receptacle and barely any grass. Don’t waste your time!

This dog park needs many improvements. The “big dog” area chosen is far to small. Perhaps considerations could be made to create a significantly larger dog park further away from the city center. There is a great deal of land that could be developed for such a park. Owners of “Larger” dogs and there are many of them, would love to have a large area at least 20-30 acres where they could let their dogs “off-leash” and walk on trails. I understand the “big-bear-park” is relatively new but unfortunately these types of parks are limited in size due their location in the city (i.e. property costs/expenses). I think many large dog owners and even small dog owners would gladly give donations to see such a park created in the future. I would note”Heritage Dog Park” in Olathe, KS as one that sets the example.

Beautiful right by the river. A welcome relief to be able to have the dogs off leash! - CaseyMore than a year agoGreat park!
