We only stopped to walk around the ghost town of Ironton. We walked around the buildings and along the river a bit. Only saw one other person while we were there. The buildings are slowly collapsing and generally falling apart so be very cautious entering them. There was a considerable amount of glass around some of the buildings so make sure to watch where your dog steps. We saw lots of fresh scat from wildlife (deer, elk, moose?) so probably a good idea to keep dogs leashed and close. Very cool piece of history to see before it’s gone. If you plan to drive down the hill to get right to the townsite be careful. The road is dirt and had ruts and some large rocks sticking up in the center of the road.
