Wonderful place to walk your dogs! We take advantage of the hoses on really warm days and wet down our dogs several times during our walks.
The park is beautiful and the clear water springs are a favorite place for our dogs to cool off as well.
The rangers there are obviously dog lovers and always friendly. - PatMore than a year agoThis Place Is a Must See and a Good Work out
A ravine this big and deep is totally unexpected in Florida. There are two suspension bridges spanning it. A paved road for cars, hikers, and bikers goes around the top of the ravine, with exercise stations and overlooks. A dirt path goes around the lip of the ravine with lots of shade and ups and downs. Periodically concrete steps provide access down into the ravine itself where another series of dirt paths follow the center bottom where a clear, white sand stream flows. The dogs love lying in the stream on hot days, and walking around where the water is bubbling up from springs. Picnic areas are found here and there. Plan on at least half a day to do the unpaved trails, and pack a lunch. Be sure to read about the history of this place.
