- JennyMar 31, 2019My dog loves Atlantic Beach!! (And so do we)
We took our first trip to Atlantic Beach in August 2018. We chose Atlantic because it’s gorgeous and dog friendly. Our dog enjoys the water and the sand and spending time with her parents. She was able to do all three at Atlantic Beach. Another reviewer said something about a sign saying “no dogs” but that’s on the short board walk. The beach itself had plenty of dogs and people without any issues.

Dogs are always allowed on this beach but not at the circle. New Bern Avenue and other public accesses are fine. I take my dog all the time and do not keep on leash so she can swim and fetch ball and never had a problem even though technically they are to be on leashes.
- StewartMore than a year agoYES TO DOGS
As of 6/6/16 when I checked the Town of Atlantic Beaches website - under town government, general information, FAQ, click the full FAQ link and not just the summary - this is what it says:
Q: Can I take my dog on the beach?
A: Yes. Dogs are permitted on the beach strand
and must be on a leash at all times, except dogs
are not allowed in lifeguard protected areas beyond 20 feet from the water’s edge.
