We love going to Ed Austin! Not only is it a great place for the whole family, we absolutely LOVE the dog park! Highly recommend!
- PaigeSep 3, 2022Very spacious dog park
Large fenced in area to run, splash in little kiddie pools or chase balls. Multiple tables for humans to sit. There is two sections - 30 pounds and up and 30 pounds and under.
- LaurenOct 26, 2021Hard to find!
Super difficult to find, next to skate park. (Put monument skate park in maps, and it’s right behind it).
Very shady and fairly well maintained considering how large it is. Lots of trees, if you want to keep an eye on your dog you may have to keep walking. (Mine can be sneaky)
Recommend tennis shoes because it’s all dirt/ sand.
- ClaraNov 1, 2020Friendly People And Huge Shaded Park!
This was the spot we needed! I was looking for a dog park for my corgi and senior GS and this was the best place. So many dogs and everyone was super friendly. We’re only passing through to visit family but this is definitely where we’ll bring our dogs in future visits.
- CarinaSep 22, 2020Nice Off Leash Dog Park
Alot of space with obstacles and water for the dog(s). The shaded areas provided by all the trees is really nice especially on a hot day!

Very nice park, lots of shade, benches for the humans and water for the dogs. Divided into large & small dog areas.

This is not a safe dog park. The volunteers abuse their power. The rules at the gate are only for patrons not volunteers. My dog was attacked last Sat by a dog owned by a volunteer. The dog attacked me and my dog. No apologies no offering vaccination records no offering to take care of the vet bill. My dog left limping. They said me getting bit was my fault and I deserved it you should never get involved in a dog attack, but the owner did NOTHING to get his dog off of mine just stood and watched like he was scared of his own dog. My dog is crying I blocked his dag to avoid to getting mine was told you never pull the dog when one has their teeth clinched into yours because it could tear the rip the skin. The whole park is protecting this guy not offering to help get his info to make him responsible they just say it's a at risk park enter at own risk which is fine but they have a sign that clearly states no aggressive dogs and any signs of aggression must leave, the person that owned the aggressive dog didn't leave I was made to leave with my dog limping and his dog was fine Anyone else's dog that happened The volunteers would of called animal control. I completely forgot too last year when I was hiring a dog walker, we did a meet n greet at Ed Austin Dog park. She said the same thing happened with her. One of the volunteer's dogs attached her puppy, she had to rush her dog for stitches and but she was made to leave and her dog was banned from te park, The volunteer's dog was able to stay. They so abuse their power there. So just be careful of any dog that belongs to a volunteer, they will not take responsiblity for their dog and will have YOU banned

If you go on a weekday there are only a few dogs there. Definitely recommend for anyone who wants their dog to have a bit of fun. There are benches where owners can sit, and pretty much the whole park is shaded. My dog got along with all of the other dogs there, and it’s a great way to allow your dog to have a social life.

Six hours into our trip north and doggie was ready for some play time. This is a great, shaded dog park. Definitely keeping in mind for the trip back south.

One of Jacksonville’s hidden treasure in the dog community.
This park is located in Ed Austin Park behind the skate park along the walking trail. There are 2 separate areas, one for small dogs and one for large dogs.
This park is an unleash dog area. It is community ran as well which is great.
Great dogs and people within the park. Lots of room and shade for them to run and play. - JoyMore than a year agoour new favorite park
Maston had such a great day and made lots of new friends today at this park!! The park is huge with lots of running area and has a separated area for large and small dogs. It was hard to find but it's right on your right if you come through the entrance near the shopping center, next to the skate park.

Great Park! Had a hard time finding it at first but it on the right as soon as you turn in. The park is huge and full of dogs.
- LaurenMore than a year agoPoop everywhere!!
There was poop everywhere. My child and myself both stepped in poop. I was even talking to a guy who just let his dog poop right in front of me and walked away.

My dogs had fun not to many dogs there and it was free no one checking you in .

Water, shade trees, grass, tables, benches.... Everything you could want from a dog park.
Enter the park from monument, and parking area is immediately to your left, the fenced dog park is immediately to your right, near the skate park. - KimMore than a year agocould not find
I went on a weekend and drove around Ed Austin Regional Park for over 20 minutes looking for the dog park area. I didn't see any signs and I entered and exited the park from both entrances off of Monument and one off of McCormick. Admittedly I was not prepared to walk the 1.75 miles along an unmarked walking path to find out if I would end up at the right place as directed by another reviewer. So we just walked, but couldn't let my dog off leash.

Excellent park inside a larger park. Perfect for an off leash romp in a huge shaded area or, if your pup is not social, take a stroll around the old golf cart trail of this property, which used to be an 18 hole golf course twenty years ago.
- NancyMore than a year agoLovely Dog Park!
We took our two small dogs to the Ed Austin Dog Park today, and had a great time! There's a small dog's portion, which is huge, and a large dog's area, next door. Plenty of shady trees, benches to sit on, tables to sit at, a large water faucet and steel bowl, a double door gate, so dogs can't accidentally escape out, and it seemed like everyone there was obeying all the posted rules. No aggressive dogs allowed, pick up your dog's poo,(we didn't find any orphan poops on our shoes) no in heat female dogs, all the usual courtesy and common sense you'd HOPE to find in a dog park. There's a high fence around the entire small and large dog area, too. The park is open from 8 am to around 5 or 6 PM.
