Went on a Tuesday afternoon and had the Trails to ourselves. The trails are feel quite secluded from the busy San Marco's area which was nice. Not too much elevation change but good dog walking trails.

I visited Purgatory Creek Natural Area this morning and was very impressed with the trail system and how well kept the trails themselves are- especially after recent rainfall. Overall, if you have a good head for navigating sparsely marked trails and/ or enjoy mountain biking and trail running I highly recommend these trails. The only downside for me was having to keep my pups on leash and the lack of water, drinking and otherwise. I'm not sure if there is water you can hike to, but if there is it will take longer than 30 minutes to get to, which can be brutal in Texas heat with a fur coat! Be sure to pack lots of water for your pups and take breaks in the shade when necessary! Also watch out for cacti!
