Went here for Memorial Day Weekend. Stayed in Mathew's Arm which was a well kept campground with most sites having plenty of threes for shade. You might want to consult a ranger before selecting your hike. We did the Rose River Falls hike which was noted as moderate. There was what felt like a never ending incline which was all rock scramble. A couple warned up and told me I would need to carry my dog. Luckily my pup is 11 lbs, has nimble little paws and did it with ease but it could be hard for nom-rock savy pups.

Shenandoah is the most dog friendly NP I’ve been to. That said, be mindful of what trails dogs aren’t allowed on. There are plenty of easily accessible trails so it’s not a problem.

Bring your dog! only a couple of trails are not dog friendly. Our Sheltie absolutely loves it here.
