- KatieAug 20, 2023Shaded and spacious! Perfect dog park!
We had the place to ourselves for most of our visit, plenty of room to run in both the large dog and small dog pens. We appreciated having the benches and the secure entry. We were surprised it wasn’t damp and full of mosquitos. It was a hot day today in Ludington but the trees kept it nice and shady and there was a cool breeze. The ground has mulch through it but it’s not tough walking or hard on the dogs paws. :) The porta-potty across the parking lot was helpful.

Love this park. it is in the woods and shady.
Bring your bug spray.
Trees abound and wood chips. - ShelleyJul 12, 2019Nice Park
We took our dog here in July 2019. It’s got lots of big trees and 4 benches for people to sit on, some with a view of a lake. Nice and shady on a warm summer day! The land is hilly so dogs can run up and down.

What a great, BIG dog park! It was like running around in the woods. The grounds are well kept, there are jugs of water for the water bowls, and it’s just SO BIG and shady!
My first piece of advice is to wear bug spray! My second is to make sure you come in from the back side of the Cartier park. It’s not marked well from the main road (Lakeshore), but if you turn just as the cemetery and go around behind, it’s easier to find. I’m sure locals have no trouble finding it, but it took a little turning around for us, because Slagle stops and starts. Worth the trip!

This is the nicer park in the northern area. Decent size, and water. Better than Manistee or Benzonia.

Great shady dog park. Large fenced in area with lots of trees. Perfect spot to let my fur babies stretch their legs.
