- GretchenMay 25, 2023Beautiful Disaster - Tickville
What started out as a truly beautiful scenic evening 30 minute walk walk full of wildlife ended in hours of removing 100 ticks from our dog as well as ourselves. Never have I ever experienced anything on this level before. A beautiful place but one I would not return with fido. The tick were embedded in between his paws, legs and head.
Date of visit 5.24.23 - VirginiaJun 25, 2021Great walking spot when open
The paved path is small but a good walk for a young or older dog. The field paths are more fun and wide. A lot of people walking or walking with their dogs. All dogs were leashes but the parking lot is very tiny so you have to hit it at a good time if you don’t live near by. people are friendly. It is a nature preserve so you’ll see foxes and deer and do not go at night/too dark because of coyotes. Unfortunately it is closed temporarily.

Beautiful area. Unfortunately not much parking. If the lot is full you’re told to move on and come another day.
