The only entrance to the park is at the end of Fon Du Lac Ave on the west side of the freeway. No access from Good Hope Rd. Kind of hard to get to, but WELL worth it! From the lot, trails flow through woods, to the Menonmonee River, through tall grass, to hilly mogals, back to parking lot, about a mile in all. Our big dog loved it, our first off leash experience. It helps if your dog is trained. For that, I strongly recommend Milwaukee Dog Training Club, a proud sponsor of Milwaukee Co dog parks!

Was so excited to visit this park. Huge wooded area with lots of trails and river access. However our young ones did not listen and ran through the woods and got out of the fenced area while in the river. This is our own fault because they are usually really good at their recall but there were so many fascinating smells they just forgot about us. Great park tho.

Such a great spot for people and pups. A serene retreat away from the city. Beware of the muddy areas!

Felt like I was in a forest with trails. My Shepherd loves it here. There is a creek running through it. Awesome place for dog to feel like they are free!

This was our first time visiting this park, and it was a great experience! It was huge! It seemed like every corner you turned there was something new to explore. There were multiple hills, a shallow river, a small agility course, wooded paths, and kind dogs and owners. It wasn't packed, but there were 2 or 3 dogs our dog could play with. Highly recommend!

Oh, how I miss this park! It is by far not only my favorite Milwaukee park, but also favorite in Southeastern Wisconsin. There's something for everyone: Flat mulched paths with little to no inclines if you have limited walking abilities. But if you want to get a workout with Fido, there's plenty of hilly areas for you climb. The biggest hill being nice and breezy to cool off on hot days. Plenty of sunny areas to catch some rays and stay warm on cooler days. River access for the dogs to swim in, and shallow enough for humans to wade in. Plus, even though this park can seem quite secluded, I usually see a familiar face or 2 even in the late evening and winter hours, so I always feel safe there. Plus, the cops regularly drive through the parking lot.
The only down side is that it is not completely fenced in (as of 2011 anyway) It is on a dead end road. And the fence runs from the start of the parking lot, along the busier side of the park on Good Hope Rd, and stops at the river. Though as I said, this is as of 2011 and may have changed since the park became part of the Milwaukee Dog Park system. - CooperMore than a year agoGreat park!
This is a GREAT dog park spanning over 10acres! Heavily wooded, lots of trails, a creek, hills, agility course & a grassey open areas for frisbee or just romping. Benches, poop bags & garbage cans can also be found throughout the park. It is important to note that because the park is so heavily wooded, its easy to lose sight of your dog quickly! The park is also not fenced in, but the woods provide a natural boundry. BEWARE in the spring, park becomes VERY muddy & the creek tends to flood!!
