We love this park for a quick local walk on well maintained trails. Dogs must be leashed at all times, but there are certainly great sights to be seen and smells to be sniffed on leash. Another great feature is your pup can head out on the kayak or canoe with you when renting from the shop!

Loved this park. Off-season so parking was free and the park was relatively empty.Trails ranged from 1 to 3 miles long. Hiked with my dog off leash without a problem. Paths are inconsistently marked, which can be frustrating but since this is not the wilderness, eventually you get back onto a path. I recommend starting at the Nature Center on the Pond Path which seems to be more clearly marked. Nature center is open for water and bathrooms, and there is a bathroom at the other end at the sports complex. Plenty of benches along the trails to stop and rest, So you can always bring lunch or a book. I ended up taking about 4 1/2 miles and every step of it was lovely.
