Oat Hill Mine Trail
Reviews
- KarlMore than a year agoShaded with beautiful vistas
We hiked this trail in April. The trailhead was easy to access, the trail was in very good condition despite heavy rain the previous 2 days. We hiked for the first 1.5 Km and the trail was well shaded, with very little poison oak. The vistas were incredible, and particularly green given the Spring season.
The trail is shared with other hikers and mountain bikers. Everyone was respectful, and shared the trail so we did not have any issues.

The trailhead is at the edge of downtown Calistoga, right across from La Prima restaurant. Nice climb, well maintained, great views! Connects to other trails for miles of walking. We didn't make it to the cliffs, but they are reputed to provide 270deg. views of the Anderson and Napa Valleys. Great views of Calistoga all the way up the trail. Intermittently sunny & shady areas (in the trees and in the open), so a nice temperature gradient, even on a hot day. **Lots** of Poison Oak along the trail sides, but the trail itself is clear and open. We'll DEFinitely be back with our dogs for more exploring!!
