Crab Beach
Reviews
Visitors generally praise Crab Beach as a suitable spot for dogs to play, explore, and swim, though some note it is small and rocky with limited space for humans. They advise wearing water shoes and caution that swimming may not be ideal due to the shallow depth and rocky terrain.

This beach is small and rocky, but my lab liked it. It didn’t really have sand, but rather teeny tiny rocks.

loved it!!!

Great place to bring your dog it is almost all enclosed except for the stairs to get down. There is a lot of rocks so not a place where to take a nice walk but it is great for the dogs and there are amazing walking paths there too. If you keep going right on the pathway you will find a big-ish rock if you take a left there you will come to an old look out post sort of thing and there are some great views form there.

It was our dog’s first visit to a beach. Definitely wear water friendly footwear.

nice beach, lots of rocks to explore!
- SarahAug 14, 2021Small but perfect
Beach with a view - rocky - bring your water shoes! Our dog loved swimming in the wake of the baots as they passed under the drawbridge. Perfect for fido
- JessicaJun 30, 2021Great experience for pups!
We brought our dog here for his first ever beach experience. He loved running and splashing with the other pups who were around and chasing the ball out into the water. This is definitely *not* a beach to take your family and set up shop, or to think you can avoid getting pelt, as it's a smaller area, especially at high tide, and one of the few beach places in the area that does allow dogs in the summer. You can swim with your pup if you want to, but bring water shoes -- lots of rocks, seaweed, etc. At low tide, the natural barriers are a lot farther away.
- DarinJun 8, 2021Can't swim + bring water shoes
Nice tidepools to explore, and OK for dogs to splash around, but it's not actually a beach it's more of a rocky outcropping - there are too many mussels and barnacles on the rocks to walk on and it's too shallow to swim. For humans your feet get cut up, but it seems like the dogs are OK. If you go, be sure to bring water-friendly footwear
Nice for a walk, not for a swim

Great clean beach with natural barriers for dogs to run off leash.
