    Decent.

Most of the time I attend this park it seems to be a very nice time for me and my dogs. I go once a week and have for quite some time now, 2 of the times I went there were issues with dogs being aggressive towards my own. Neither of my dogs are aggressive but will check another dog into their place, as any dog would. One problem I had is whenever I bring my daughter there would be chatter about how this is a dog park and not a child park, there was multiple incidents of a man and a group of women talking rudely about my daughter being there which at that point I left. They were Saying things such as “one girls kid broke this, and another kid did this and that ect, almost acting like my innocent daughter was the one to blame. Which was a shame. Usually I have a nice experience. But there’s a very big variety of dogs and people you will run into at this park, and the rules are little to none with no surveillance. So it’s an enter at your own risk, know what you could be getting into.

Lovely park, all very nice people and dogs. My girl runs from me if I want to go before she's ready. LOL

    Elitist Purebred Club

I went here despite some of the reviews, but I should’ve stayed away. I was anxious about taking my 1 and a half year old rescue to a dog park for the first time. She is friendly and loves dogs but she gets really anxious around humans.

I was overjoyed when I arrived, and there was only one person and their dog , the two dogs played nicely together. Another one joined they all were playing and slowly more dogs trickle in.

However, there was a loud group of women that obviously felt like they owned the park. One was shouting out to her rambunctious little cocker spaniel “I can’t believe you’re even in here running around with that dog in here” pointing at my 30 lb lab terrier mix that resembles a Pit. Then the other women says “yeah I know, my dog is too scared to come in”

like are people making their dogs racist now too?

I immediately call my dog over, leash her and walk toward the exit because I know trouble in a paperboys hat when I see it - when the cocker spaniel mentioned before starts attacking my dog from underneath her chin and biting at her skin and barking while I’m holding my dog up and the other owner is video taping it and saying “omg she doesn’t know “come” yet, she’s not fully trained” and doing nothing to stop her dog. At this point, my dog is growling and the owner says “no I don’t blame her” - I’m about to start growling tbh - I left immediately because something about that encounter felt intentional. The only dogs they accept are full bred dogs - literally there were no other mutts - and if you have a Pit or anything that even RESEMBLES a pit beware.

I advise finding another dog park, honestly I thought it was ridiculous to pay for a membership but I can see why now. Unkind and unwelcoming people troll here.

Was good, but 1 dog/owner always ruins it

I usually go there twice a week, my dog is very well behaved and trained. On 2 occasions a brown dog has attacked my dog as we are training, this time he tore his ear, the 1st time bit through his lip.
Not sure I'll go here again which is a shame, most of the people here are fantastic and the dogs are lovely, but this 1 guy and his vicious dog have ruined it for me.

    decent

First, I don't think Maggie was being "breedist" in her comments. It sounds as if she had a rough experience and was fearful of her dogs safety. Also, Mt. Clemens does have a city ordinance that states pit bulls must be muzzled in this park and a sign on the gate clearly states that. Whether you agree with the ordinance or not is a moot point. If you are a responsible dog owner you either follow the laws and rules or choose another park. It's that simple.

Second, my dog LOVES coming here and he has a handful of friends he enjoys playing with. The majority of people are nice, good company, and pick up after their dogs. As anywhere, there are people who don't clean up after their pets and are rude.

This park is on the smaller side and when there are 20+ dogs at once it can get pretty crazy and you need to pay attention to your pet.

It's also free and not monitored so you're taking a gamble of your dog potentially getting hurt by a dog who is not vaccinated or altered.

    Wow.

Maggie. I can't help but to take your comment rudely. I am a pit owner your comment seemed like you are a breedist! I will def not attend this park if my pit needs to be muzzled. Thanks for the warning.

    Smallish, but well maintained

We were pleased that this park welcomes dogs (and their owners) without a pass. There were a number of dogs and owners when we visited, but the group was friendly. Additionally, there is a source of fresh water with a hose which our larger dog loved. There's plenty of seating, garbage cans and communal dog toys, including a few tires for jumping, etc. Note: there is not a separate area for smaller dogs if that's a concern for your furry friends.

    Muzzle the Pitbulls

I took my Weim to this park so she could burn off some energy as she needs to run. I liked that it was fully fenced. Everything was fine, the other owners were really nice and so were their animals. Then a lady showed up with 2 aggressive pit/chow mix. The signs clearly state "Pitbulls MUST be muzzled" she insisted her dogs were just playing, but when they both jumped all over my dog, growling and biting at her I had to jump in lift my 70lb dog up by her harness and put her into the safety of the entrance gates. I doubt I will return to this park....I love my dog too much!

    Nice park

There is always a nice, responsible group of dog owners with friendly pets. No fee or pass required.
