- LydiaJul 15, 2021an excellent dog beach - worth a trip!
it’s a gradual decline into the water with minimal waves, making it perfect for any type of swimmer you may have.
the dog portion of the beach stretches pretty far so we were able to snag a spot by ourselves and let our dogs off leash because were were far enough from anyone else. my dog has been attacked a few times (elsewhere) so i did keep my leash around my waist while i swam, but the beach wasn’t busy at all and i only needed to leash my guy once after we’d found our spot when someone walked past us to find a spot.
our trip to the beach was on a friday in july. the water temp was perfect and our dogs had an amazing time! the only downside was all the seaweed and the flies that would bite, but still worth the trip for sure. just bring some bug spray!
- JenelleOct 10, 2020Great Place For Dogs!
we went early, and on a fall day so there were hardly any people there, but the trails were great and then the long beach where our dog could run around and swim was perfect! if you have a dog that likes to be off leash, I recommend you go earlier in the morning and off-season. No one bothered us or said anything, but I imagine they are more strict during the summer months.
