I saw this park advertised as dog friendly and there is a dog trail in the park; however, it’s a very short trail and not where the waterfalls are. We travelled 3 hours and paid $8 to walk half a mile with the dog. The picnic area is dog friendly as well, great view, but not what we were hoping for at all. We asked the park ranger about the dog, we were told the dog could come into the park, so we paid the $8 fee and then the ranger told us about the limited access for the dog. We would have turned around had we’d known before paying.
- HeatherSep 3, 2020No dogs allowed on trails!
While they do allow you to enter the park with your dog, you are extremely limited with the activities you can do with your dog. The website said your dog can only be allowed on trails west of Highway 1 (which isn't much. Most of the trails are east of the highway). We were disappointed as we thought we could take a long hike with our dog. Please check out the local park's websites first before bringing your dog to a local park.
Fee is $8 per car for entry, but it is good on any state park that day in case you want to visit others. - KatieFeb 25, 2020Great views and hiking!
This state park charges $8 per vehicle and $7 if you are a senior. This place has a great hiking trail with a waterfall that you and your pup can walk to. Our dog can't go that far so we didn't try it with her. There are also picnic tables and you can have a picnic or lunch and take in the beautiful views of the rugged coastline and beach. You just have to have your dog on leash! Definitely worth checking out!
