We just moved to Wisconsin and this is one of our favorite hikes to take our dogs. We have not experienced the dog beach or the summer crowds, but thus far it has it has been relatively very quiet on the trails.
You do have to pay an entrance fee or purchase a State park sticker.
The longest trail is about 3 miles total loop . - BrittanyMay 31, 2023Dog Beach at High Cliff
I have been here a handful of times. There is a dog beach area not too far away from the regular (no dogs) beach. Looks small at first but once you get past the trees, the sand beach stretches out quite a ways. You will find some people without dogs hanging out over here at times.. probably to avoid the large amount of people that can be at the main beach when it’s busy.
Overall, I enjoy the beach but can get pretty busy (which can mean stressful with dogs) at times. I wouldn’t choose to come here just for the dog beach unless it were closer.. however I enjoy taking my dogs camping here and it’s a nice hike from the campsites.
