Thanks to the Bring Fido app we found this wonderful place to have fun & stay cool ! Harper & I camped for 1 night at St Augustine SP , it’s beautiful but no pups allowed on their beach because of a nesting water bird population. Its July 6th so I knew we need to stay cool . Matanzos has white sand beach & a cool blend of low water ( for playing) & deep water channels where it meets the ocean. The sand was hot so we used the boardwalk to protect her paws ( you can walkover the dunes but stay on the path ) There is only shade under the bridge so bring your umbrella, water ,I had a chair but didn’t use it we played then rested in the cool shallow water . Dont forget to explore & have fun , you will be sharing w others , this is a popular place , lots of kids & families close to the boardwalk, just walk down a little, we found a spot with nothing but us, sand & cool water

Nice location! Found out our Boston Terrier could swim with the sandbars made it possible. Would of given it 5 stars if it had places to change, shower off and restrooms for us. Otherwise, definitely dog friendly.
