There are many “open” dog parks in Louisville. For those of us who want to make sure our dogs are playing with vaccinated friends I love the Metro park system. If you can’t afford $35 annually, you may not need a dog.
Tom Sawyer not only has a little pond for my girl to play in but a very large walking trail that is included in the fenced dog park area and feels like you are on a nature hike but secured for off leash roaming! My girl loves it! - Luna’s MomMore than a year agoL O V E
Absolutely love this dog park, what an incredible place. The only thing it’s missing is a place for them to swim🐾
- AlexisJun 12, 2018Paradise for Walt the Dalmatian!
Very accessible and and easy drive, almost 5 acres of mostly wooded trails, and a huge field to play!
We love going! They keep up with maintaince, restock balls, regrow grass, have fresh water, kiddie pools, and always putting dogs first!

BOO and BOO and BOO. Looks nice but if you are visiting FORGET it unless you know WAY ahead of time. GO TO LEXINGTON where the 5 DOG PARKS are clean and nice and NO PERMIT!

Compared to the dog parks we frequent in CA, the Louisville parks are Paradise. We visited two parks -- Sawyer and Cochran Hill. Both provided acres of grass, gorgeous trees, benches, and a darling gazebo. Water and poop bags were, of course, available. Sawyer was our favorite park because the locals had brought in chairs, pet toys, and even Wet Wipes! I mean, what else could you ask for??

I read the reviews here and on other sites about this park (and several others maintained by the same organization in this area), and immediately thought I was going to have to cancel my visit to my sister's on our cross-country road trip. I have 2 Aussies and they NEED space to run with long drives every day. However, I contacted the organization using the email address on their website, and viola! They said they DO have guest privileges available. So the trip's still on! I rate it 4 bones though because the site doesn't mention guest privileges. It's a slight nuisance to have to contact them directly for that information.
- EMore than a year agohey louisville what about visiting dogs?
Biscuit and i are so disappointed that there isn't a dog run for visiting pups!
if i lived here i would get a permit 4 sure because it looks awsome! - HeatherMore than a year agoMust be a member
Truly a wonderful dog park - however, it isn't great if you're traveling. This dog park requires a membership and key-fob to use it. If you want to buy a membership, visit any Feeder's Supply pet store in Louisville (must have a paper copy of your dog license and vaccinations). Well worth it if you are coming to Louisville regularly. About $40/year

Grass, woods, trails, plenty of room to run safely off leash. My dog's, and any dog's, favorite place in the world!
