if you just do the pinnacle meadow trail, it’s a slow steady uphill, a nice lookout with a very cool rock bench in the meadow. the trail continues up through the woods and joins with the the Stowe pinnacle trail which is very steep with some scrambling. Our 2 yo active lab mix did great, better than his humans for sure! the way down was a little tricky, slippery/muddy rocks to navigate, we let him off leash at this point so the humans and pup were able pick our ways down the rocks without fear of someone getting pulled off balance with the leash.
he enjoyed meeting other people and pups along the way. view at the top is gorgeous, vast, breathtaking, etc. and humans and dog slept very well after! - HowardSep 1, 2022Beautiful Hike
Great trail. Saw many other dogs. Our pup enjoyed the day. Per the website and signs, it is acceptable to have dogs off leash if they obey commands, stay within site and owners pickup after their pet. If going the full 3.5 miles, total elevation is about 1,100 ft.

Our dogs LOVED this hike. Total round trip of 3.2 miles. Not too challenging for medium to large dogs. Excellent views & super dog friendly.
