Staff were friendly, buildings were incredible, and my dog loved all of it. Very dog friendly! Tight paths through some areas, in case your dog has a tough time with other dogs.

We loved this museum. It is a really shaded, well maintained walking trail with lots of spots to sit and learn about the area and how they survived. Absolutely fascinating glimpse into Appalachian life. They have lots of people showing how things were done from blacksmiths to weavers to instrument makers. Plenty of spots to sit and give my babies some water and a rest. Took us about 2 hours to really look around and enjoy things. The dogs slept all the way home (3 hours) they were so tired from running up and down steps and the mountain. Perfect!
