Love this Nature Preserve
This place was one of my favorite mini hikes before I got a puppy and now we enjoy it together. You’re bound to meet a new doggo friend on the weekend.
Highlights: the stream is very slow moving and no current, only a few feet deep, so dogs don’t need to be super strong swimmers to enjoy it. That being said, don’t let them drink too much of that stream water. Great for a beginner to long exercise with variable terrain to keep it interesting. Bring a blanket and picnic on the mini dog beach.
Terrain: grass, dirt, steam + sand
Resources: Bring your own water and poop bags as they are no dog resources.
No close bathrooms.
Rules: Many pups are off leash but for the most part it’s responsible owners who watch their dogs and know their dogs have good recall.
Free parking (~10-15 spots total and bike racks)
Located among a nice neighborhood within Atlanta city proper
