Good Dog park, Not fully fenced so you need to watch your dog. No shade. Have seen a few dogs catch some fish. Wagfest is usually held here which is cool!

with a dock for the pups to jump off, a shelter with shade & plenty of beach space this has been a great place for our lab to swim! there are wide groomed grass paths that go for miles around the area. We typically use these paths to go the long way back to the car to be able to dry off a bit. All the humans and dogs are very friendly. it’s a beautiful metro park!
Notably:
it’s not fenced in, but isolated enough that dogs tend to stay in the area. if you have a dog that runs away - this place is NOT for you.
Also, plan ahead with water and bathroom because there is neither near the dog beach.
and bring plenty of tennis balls/toys :) - FrankMay 19, 2021Favorite Water Dog Park around
Fantastic area with a dock for dock diving. Rocky absolutely loves it here. The off leash area is not fenced in, but I haven't seen anyone have an issue with it. It is a pretty large area and the dogs stick pretty closely together near the water.
The only thing I don't like is that there are no trash cans at this park and the park rangers are irritating. There is a waste receptacle for your doggie bag at each entrance to the dog park area, but no other waste receptacles around the park.
- SarahMore than a year agoWatch out for a dog name Bear.
If you see a Rottweiler named bear... LEAVE IMMEDIATELY!!!
The owner is horrible (the dog is nice compared to his owner). The owner kicked my dog repetively and called my dog aggressive for running and barking to say hi to her and her dog (my dog was wagging its tail and didn't growl or show any sign of aggression. Bear, however, was snarling and ready to bite). She threatened to "beat you up" and "follow you to the parking lot to beat the f***ing snot out of you " while also cussing me out. Mind you this was a woman in her mid thirties. But if that owner isn't there it's a great place to let your dogs swim. It's not fenced in so great recall or a long leash is a must. It does have a sudden drop off about four feet in so if you dog isn't a strong swimmer be aware of that. Finally, there is a little dock I imagine dogs who are good at dock diving could do so here.
Just watch out for Rottweiler's owner!!!

I love to hike the trails and then letting the dogs cool off in the pond.
- LauraMore than a year agoWho doesn't love a Dog Beach!?!?!
This really is a great place to escape the hot summer heat. All dogs, large or small seem to enjoy wading/swimming in the water. There are always lots of dogs (particularly labs & retrievers) swimming, and fetching water toys from the water. A great way to burn off some energy, and cool off in the process! The only way to make this a 5 bone review, would be to have the area enclosed with fencing, for those of us with dogs that like to RUN!
