  Very small dog park

  it’s a very small dog park. I wouldn’t call it a dog park. not suitable for my dogs. I have a mini ausie and a yorkie. they love to run and hike.

  Good

  The park is really good my dog loves it, but there are some owners who bring their aggressive dogs to the park and when their dog attack other dog they do nothing.

  3 to 5 Times/week

  I've yet to have a problem, and my dog loves this park. I'm there in the mornings, and the only issue I've had is with a few owners that don't pick up after their dogs, or some that bring dogs in and leave them on a leash. Dogs act differently on a leash and to a dog on a leash. This is an off-leash park bring your dog to the appropriate side for it's size and take it off the leash, or simply walk the park that's not fenced in for off-leash.

  AWFUL! STAY AWAY

  DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! my dog has never had a problem at dog parks/ dog beaches. the minute we showed up here, he was instantly attacked by 3 dogs. The owners proceeded to blame me and my dog. I had to use physical force to remove their dogs from mine. DO NOT go here. The owners are worse than the dogs!

  Great Dog Park!

  This place is great! It's well maintained, poop bags are easily available and so is water. There are usually a few toys or balls around and the owners are friendly and chatty about their dogs. There's also a play ground in site of the park so the kids can run around while the dogs play. We go here all the time and always have a great time.

  Aggressive dog

  Be careful when you go to Stamford park and aggressive tan and white Akita aggressively attacked my dog the owners respons was to put his dog on the leash and stay in the park . 3 other dogs went up to the Akita while he was on the leash in the dog aggressively went after them .Stay away from this park because the owners do not have a clue or care

  Rude Owner and Aggressive Dog

  We bring our dog (who weights 20lbs) to the Stamford park often. For the most part, we have had a blast there. Our dog is very friendly and often times loves to sit on the benches with the people rather than run around. There has been two instances where my dog has been attacked by another dog (about 50lbs) on the SMALL DOG SIDE. The incidents happen right when the large dog enters the small dog side because the owner allows it. All other dog go running up to greet new dogs when they enter - it's part of being a dog. But twice now this dog which is a black long hair shepherd has pinned my dog down (a mini goldendoodle) and bit her neck. The owner is what makes me the most frustrated. The first time her comment to me "well your dog shouldn't have run up to me and she needed a bath anyways" <--after her dog had my dog pinned in the dirt. The second time occurred tonight and the ladies response was yet again ridiculous; "it's because your dog isn't part of the pack here". I didn't realize we were at an elitist club, I must have missed the turn for the Stamford Dog Park at the sign. I let my dog run around and the woman kept her dog on the leash. Before we left I told the woman that if this occurs again I would be notifying the police. She laughed and said I was being ridiculous. If your dog is territorial like that, it should be wearing a muzzle when in places it could feel tempted. End of story.

  Aggressive Dogs, Apathetic Owners

  So we bring our two dogs to this park who are used to leash free parks and the first thing we noticed was in the large dog run, our dogs were bum rushed by a riot if aggressive dogs. Owners of these dogs didn't bother to control their animals. Another guy brought a chocolate lab puppy and it was attached constantly and the clueless owner of the puppy didn't bother to defend his dog, nor did the owners of the aggressive dogs bother to intercede. We left after 15 minutes right after I had to break of a dog attack on the poor puppy who jumped into my arms. These dogs and owners pissed me off so badly, I had to leave otherwise there would have been some clueless owners attached by a ticked off dog owner, yours truly...

  dog park

  i have taken my other pom there whos passed on /tere were no dogs in the big part except another small dog/my dog walked by it and it linged on his neck/the owner just sat there /i had to literally pull his dog off/he didnt even get up off chair /so i reported him and i never saw him or his dog again/i also found dried up blood on my dogs neck

  NEVER GOING BACK!!!

  We just moved to Connecticut and we have a very friendly dog. We have taken her to Stamford Dog Park several times and every time she get's attacked and once I did too. I have several friends that have also had their dogs attacked there. It's very sad becuase it's a nice place to go.

  Last Resort

  I have a medium size dog who prefers the small dog side b/c of the aggressive vibe on the big dog side. My dog doesn't really enjoy this park - he is ready to leave pretty soon after we get there. He's been ganged up on a few times by aggressive dogs while the owners stand around and do nothing. I've seen big dogs who aren't neutered there a few times. The small dog side is pretty good altho it's a mud hole in the winter.

  Not bringing her back....

  I've brought my dog to Stamford, Waveny, Cranbury and Taylor Farm but... I find that Stamford is the only park where I've repeatedly had problems with dog owners not controlling their overly aggressive dogs. Though my dog is spayed, I've literally had to pull other dogs away from her and risk getting bit when she's chased and males attempt to mount her in packs. I don't mind if she's mounted, but my dog does and will bite the offender! I'm looking around going "Where the hell are the owners?" I also have friends in the area who have had problems the aggressiveness of the dogs in the Stamford dog park.

  Good park but....

  Over all it's a good park

  1. Enough area to run for the dogs
  2. Many friendly dogs and owners
  3. Enough toys for them to play with

  The bad:

  1. The water pump doesn't work all the time, from what I understand they turn it on mid spring. Not that big if a deal.
  2. Watch out for any huskies they are extemely aggresive, owner puts blame on every other dog but his own.
  Example: I have a 4 month old Pit Bull and as I'm walking to get into th other sid for he small dogs this husky lunged at my puppy. Owners response was it's Pit Bull you should put him down he shouldn't provoke any dogs the way he did.... Really !??!? He's a puppy, don't use the breed as an excuse to cover the fact that you have an aggresive husky.

  Good park!

  We just moved to the area and we explored this park on a chilly, nice day. It's set in an old baseball diamond, complete with dug out but it is completely fenced in, with a separate area for little dogs & timid dogs.

  Small park, but lots of fun and lots of nice dogs (:
