Greenway Dog Park

Greenway Dog Park is a large, sand-covered dog park with plenty of room for Fido to roam in Denver, CO. There is not a separate fenced area for small dogs, so visitors should make sure their smaller dogs will not be intimidated by larger, energetic dogs. Other park features include shade trees, benches, and fountains. Water is not always available at the water fountains, so remember to bring water for your pup as well as waste bags to clean up after your dog. Keep an eye out for signage at the entrance of the park notifying visitors of park closures. Visit Website

    Aggressive Behaviors Observed

My dog (medium size) was attacked by another dog after being there for less than 2 minutes. The other dog was biting down on my dogs neck, while the owner watched and encouraged the behavior (“yeah! Get her!” Thinking it was appropriate play). I was trying to separate the dogs but the dog had such a hold on my dogs neck that if I pulled them off I was worried it’d cause more harm. Eventually, the owner came over to leash their dog but did not leave the park. We were forced to leave and the aggressive dog stayed to play. Please, if your dog has aggressive tendencies do not bring them to a dog park or if you do please watch carefully and remove them if they are behaving dangerously.

    owner issues

My older dog and I have gone here a couple times. He likes to wander around and smell. He doesn't socialize much with other dogs. The first time we came he was able to do that. The second time my dog was 'more than humped' by multiple dogs there. The owners didn't seem to care while my boy was cowering and just taking it. I couldn't get the owners to pull their dogs off. One man told me to just relax. I get teary thinking about it.

A dog park is only as good as the pet owners and I know it was only a couple people who ruined it for us, but we won't be returning.

    Small dogs welcome

I own a 14-lbs dachshund/spaniel mix (small dog) and he absolutely loves it here. Bringing him here to Stapleton was his first experience at a dog park. While there may not be a separate area for small dogs, he gets along and plays with the big dogs as best as he can--even though most of the time he can't keep up when the bigger dogs are sprinting across the park.

I have seen dogs from puppies to senior citizens and from extra small to extremely large breeds all out there having a good time socializing.

    not for small dogs

Please make an area for small dogs. The big dogs rule here and it is not safe for small dogs.

The park is great except for the group of people who think they run it. They should mind their own buisness and not harass people just because their dog is unneutered.

    5 Big Bones Up!

This doggy park is pretty good. Make sure to bring water as it might not always have running water (broken hydrant.) Dog likes it. Lots of tennis ballz.

    Amazing!

This is an absolutely fantastic dog park- it is HUGE and has fire hydrants scattered about as well as a grassy area (it is mostly sand). No children under 12 allowed in because the dogs run so much- but other than that I would recommend this park to ANYONE.
