Figured I would try this park for the first time. We will never go there again. the only positive is that this park is large with plenty of space for dogs to run. Other than that there is nothing good about it. Park is all dirt and rocks with some very dead grass on the sides. Its very obvious the City of Sacramento has essentially abandoned this park. Don’t waste your time.

Great park, friendly dogs and owners. Lots of space for the pups to run around in.

I’ve taken my pup here 3 separate times after my coworker recommended it to me
- KateMore than a year agogreat park!
Nice shaded areas for owners to sit
My pup had a wonderful experience
Only complaint is there was only one water fountain... Next time I'll just bring a bowl to fill and keep it where I'm sitting. - AmandaMore than a year agoWon't be going back.
Taking my 5 month old pit to different dog parks in the area to find safe places to socialize and exercise him. We will not be going back to Sutter's Landing. I decided on two bones because it was very large, large enough for him and the other dogs to run around and not feel cramped. It was separated from the small dogs, which was nice, and he was definitely tired out afterwards; however, it's all dirt. That's it. This place is covered in sand colored dirt and both you and your dog(s) will also be covered when you leave. Don't take your dog here unless it's bathing day. Also, there was a family there (who appeared to be regulars) with their two awful retrievers. I don't know who was worse, the dogs or their owners. The owners sat in the very corner and scowled at the other owners the entire time. They watched as both of their dogs pooped in the dirt and didn't even flinch or make it seem like they cared to pick it up. Their dogs were very aggressive with the other dogs and probably should just stick to themselves or undergo some serious training. There was a nasty bucket available with a hose laying next to it for water. I get that these are animals and they don't require five star resort status, but a little care would be good. We won't be coming here again.
