The smaller area had minimal grass, mostly dirt. The larger park was definitely in need of clean up and mowing.....nothing but a weed patch. Thankfully our dog is not a water dog otherwise we might have had to contend with the pond water smell. The actual park is huge with lots of "modern" facilities for humans (need work). Hard to find the actual dog park (take first left after restroom at main entrance) The rest of park seems well maintained but dog area left without maintenance

Stopped by during a road trip. The “entrance” was technically locked due to Covid-19.. Although the guy that was already in there should me that the end of the fence was just a few steps down and you could walk right in. There was a pond that had so much trash and rubbish in it I didn’t want my dog in there. Not to mention the fencing issue. If your dog has good recall it may be ok, mine does not. I did however, enjoy walking him around the paths, it is a nice park overall. I just don’t recommend the dog park for off leash time.

Lovely area within a large park, but if your dog goes into the lake like mine did, it can come ashore on the other side of the fence and run free. Fortunately, she got anxious about being separated and came back into the lake and the dog area, but it could have been a disaster.

It was difficult to find using maps but Waze got us straight there. Separated with a big area and a smaller area. Dogs loved it. Only down side was the fire ants. But they are everywhere here in Texas. Nice stop on trip across country.
- NancyJun 3, 2018Good large dog park
This park was extremely large, grassed, and had a lake. There was a separate area for small dogs but we did not use it as we were the only ones there on a Sunday morning. We got to play lots of ball and plenty of sniff time. There was some trash, like bottle caps and such like someone had a party and did not clean up, but it wasn't too bad. This park is right in the middle of a frisbee golf park. Would highly suggestvisiting it..

We have stopped at 5 or 6 dog parks on our journey to Oklahoma and this was by far the nicest. The people were all friendly, it was right against the pond so the dogs got a swim (they stank from it afterwards but it was worth it), and the park was well shaded and cooler than most. They were having a local dog group party (Texas Panhandle Good Dogs) and all of the people and dogs were super friendly. Overall this was definitely worth the one or two hours we stopped there for. It's a bit hard to find from your gps so just plug in Thompson Park for easier navigation.

This park had broken glass in the parking area, entrance, and throughout the fenced area. The goose poop is still aproblem as well. Avoid this park.
- HeidiMore than a year agoNice Park with pond
Fenced park with water and 1 running tunnel. In Thompson Memorial by the golf course. Pond access, clean water fountain.
The park was out of doggie bags when we were there but overall VERY nice park. Lots of other ponds to swim in if you have a well trained dog.

GPS was a little screwy in the location. This dog park is inside the Thompson Memorial Park off to the left near the water. It's nice & big and pretty clean. My dogs loved the many sniffs including the tunnel.
- JJMore than a year agoGoose Poop
The dog park itself is very nice. It has water from the small pond, tunnels to play in, and lots of shady trees.... but it also has tons of goose poop which my dogs would not stop rolling around in. They stunk so bad and were so dirty I thought we were going to throw up on the ride home!
