Uwharrie National Forest
The pet-friendly Uwharrie National Forest spans 51,850 acres across Montgomery, Randolph and Davidson Counties, with Troy, NC serving as a popular entry point. It boasts the picturesque Uwharrie, Yadkin and Pee Dee rivers, along with the Uwharrie Mountains, offering diverse outdoor activities like hiking, horseback riding, camping and water sports. Dogs are welcome, but must be leashed and cleaned up after during their visit.
