Mackay Island National Wildlife Refuge
Mackay Island National Wildlife Refuge is a pet-friendly area spanning from Knotts Island, NC up to Virginia Beach. Its' goal is to protect migratory birds and endangered species, attracting tens of thousands of ducks in winter and diverse marsh birds in summer, with 187 bird species recorded. Offering serene escapes and recreational activities like photography and birding, it's a haven for reconnecting with nature alongside your four-legged companion.
